  1. Not buying it. He's been the face of your franchise for the last 15 years, closing in on 3,000 hits (something no other Yankee has ever done), an integral part of your success, a first ballot Hall of Famer, and one of the greatest shortstops of all time. "Just another ball player with declining skills" doesn't quite ring true.
  2. Maybe Brian Shaw?
  3. Sorry for the triple post, but anyone remember this blast in Toronto from Werth? Up into the 5th deck.
  4. Trying to make me out to be the bad guy, huh? You've beaten this tactic to death. You claimed Werth's power numbers are inflated. I would defy anyone who has ever actually seen him play to make this claim. You also said you've been to Philly. Well and dandy, but going to a park doesn't, in any way, legitimize your claim. If you look at his HitTracker for the last 3 seasons, you'll see that Werth does, in fact, have power to all fields. Since 2007 with the Phillies, Werth has hit 51 HRs at home and 44 on the road. Not much of a difference.
  5. Kevin Youkilis says hi. Have you ever actually seen him hit? Dude has light-tower power to all fields.
  6. Very nice breakdown, example.
  7. We nearly beat the Nuggets without Rose. And still no Boozer. Melo bailed you out at the end.
  8. Dan Duquette.
  9. Jeter will likely get 4 years. That's not a short term deal.
  10. Agreed. If they get Crawford, they had better trade Ellsbury and others for Upton. Just lost V-Mart. Probably going to lose Beltre. They needed another big bat last season, IMO. Now, they may need three more big bats. If it were up to me, I would target Werth and Upton and then kick the tires on Lee or Konerko or Berkman. And I think I would get Olivo (.821 career OPS against lefties) to platoon with Salty.
  11. Regardless of how Jacko and Y228 see the negotiations, the general perception is the Yankees are dicking around with Jeter. Their offer was more than fair, but publicly daring him to try the open market is a big slap in the face to the face of the franchise.
  12. Nice double OT win for the Bulls. They were down by 23 at one point.
  13. Same. It's getting kind of ugly.
  14. As a 22-year old in 179 PAs. And it was .808 in his last 94 PAs.
  15. I wasn't aware that anyone who strikes out 120-150 times is automatically bad.
  16. I love Pedroia, but you want him batting third? No thanks. Also, by "the Cuban guy," I assume you mean Jose Iglesias, whose bat is still at least 2 years away from being MLB-ready. And I'd much rather have Werth than Crawford. Mark Wagner has been horrible in AAA so far. Not that I'm endorsing Salty, but you'd be better off going with him.

    NL MVP

Yeah, his margin of victory surprised me, too. But in the end I think they got it right with Votto.
  18. Two years in a row where the AL MVP misses about a month of the season.
  19. Told you, Dipre, that the Tigers would be in on V-Mart.
  20. Eh, at best it was a lateral move.
  21. Even if it did happen, Sox fans wouldn't embrace him. Jim Edmonds played well for the Cubs in 2008, but fans were very slow to acknowledge his contributions.
