  1. Kind of a joke that Lavarnway didn't make the cut. Ranaudo and Cecchino haven't even played yet. What I've noticed about Baseball America is they don't like to admit they've made mistakes. What I mean by that is if they label you a star from the get-go, they're hesitant to remove you from star status. And if they underestimate you and don't label you a star from the get-go a la Lavarnway, they're hesitant to include you in their list. Look at Lars Anderson. Number one prospect in the system coming into 2008. s*** the bed in 2009 and was then considered the number 4 prospect in the system coming into 2009. Only now has he been phased out. Same thing could apply to Kelly. Was absolutely atrocious this year, yet he's still considered the number one prospect. Another bad year, and he'll probably still be in the top 10.
  2. Yeah, definitely a shame that he had dementia. To me, that's more cause for alarm than his actual death.
  3. Love the depth on the Bulls this year. Deng with an outside shot adds a new dimension as well. I'm curious to see how they'll look when Boozer arrives.
  4. Happy for Freddy Sanchez. I've always liked him.
  5. One other thing about that hypothetical trade. It's pretty clear now that Melo wants to be on the Knicks at some point. If he's traded this year, the Nuggets won't get much in return. If he leaves as a FA next season, they'll get nothing in return. At least with the Bulls, they would have gotten some value for him.
  6. Not the best argument; Noah is a year younger than Melo. If I were the Nuggets, I wouldn't have made the trade straight up. I'd have asked for one or two more complimentary pieces. But keep in mind there aren't many good centers in the NBA right now, which gives Noah a lot of value.
  7. Nice comeback by the Bulls. Dominated that 4th quarter. James Johnson stepped up big time. Derrick Rose will be in the MVP discussion this year.
  8. Eesh, that game was awful.
  9. Heat vs. Magic tonight. Should be a good one.
  10. And I get that. Still funny, though.
  11. Wasn't able to watch the game, but LMAO. All that hype for 80 lousy points? Great start to "the dynasty."
  12. Manny won't be playing for anyone next year. His skills have declined, there's too much baggage, and MLB wants to get rid of their steroid image. Hershiser sounds like a good candidate to replace Farell.
  13. Putting in Lincecum on 1 day of rest was sheer lunacy. Bochy got lucky. Good game, though.
  14. Happy times.
  15. Rangers have a stranglehold on the series now. I love it. Yankee fans look awful leaving in droves so early.
  16. The fact that Lee dominates the Yankees and Beckett gets owned by them makes the Beckett signing all the more egregious. Really sticks in my craw.
  17. So nice to see the Yankees getting their butts kicked.
  18. Greinke in a big market has disaster written all over it. I wouldn't even entertain thoughts of trying to acquire him.
  19. Can't afford to just give away games like this. What a bummer.
  20. They'll win more than one game. This series is at least going 6. I say Rangers in 7. Could go either way, though.
