  1. In 500 ABs, my projection for Lowrie would be this: .275/.365/.445, 16 HRs, 30 doubles
  2. Billingsley is a fine #2. Color me surprised EXman didn't pick another pitcher. If Ervin Santana is your #1, you're going to need a lot of depth.
  3. You can't make that kind of extrapolatory leap based on what he did in such a SSS. There is optimistic and then there is unrealistic.
  4. Have the decency to own up to what you did, you coward. At least then I might have some respect for you.
  5. Yeah, pretty much. At least the Bulls are supposed to get Noah back some time before the playoffs start. They need another scorer, IMO.
  6. It's funny. I remember in the other anti-fantasy draft we did here Tulo was taken #1 overall by YOTN and we were all like WTF at the time. But right now I could certainly see him being taken #1.
  7. Yeah, you're definitely strong up the middle. Tulo and Kinsler are each 5-tool players and Rasmus has a chance to be one, if he isn't one already.
  8. Alexei Ramirez has turned himself into a very good SS. Rasmus is a potential stud in center field. The only thing that concerns me about him is LaRussa. For some reason, he was in LaRussa's doghouse last year and lost some ABs to Jon Jay. I think C.J. Wilson will regress some this year and is more like a #2 or #3, but he's still pretty good. You waited a little too long to after a SP, IMO.
  9. I considered Latos over Haren because of the cost. The one thing that scared me about Latos was the Verducci Effect. Hamels is a great pick. Underrated pitcher.
  10. I'll bet if he had played short when he was younger he could do it now, or at least fake it. He's built like Uribe.
  11. Like the Heyward pick. J/E's corner OFs are real solid.
  12. Wainwright, Lee, and Sabathia are about as good as it gets. I thought for sure that Y228 was going to draft an everyday player in this round, though. Fielder was a nice pick. Last season was pretty much his floor. I'm guessing he rebounds in a big way. Hanson and Cain are virtually interchangeable. I think Hanson has a chance to be a little better. I'm happy to have Haren as my #2.
  13. Dan Haren - SP ($8.25 Million)
  14. No, he's available. Flynn is up.
  15. Haha, SS problem solved.
  16. Could be a fun exercise. Try and find good hitting pitchers and construct a beastly lineup. 1. Mike Leake (.333/.407/.354 in 60 PAs, 2010) 2. Dontrelle Willis (8 HRs, 10 doubles, 5 triples in 413 PAs, .232/.279/.355) 3. Micah Owings (.293/.323/.538 for an .861 OPS in 198 PAs, 9 HRs, 14 doubles, 2 triples) 4. Carlos Zambrano (21 HRs, 24 doubles, 3 triples in 660 PAs, .236/.244/.387) 5. Yovani Gallardo (8 HRs, 10 doubles in 189 PAs, .218/.260/.418) 6. C.C. Sabathia (.258/.265/.381 in 101 PAs) 7. Adam Wainwright (2 HRs, 16 doubles, .223 BA in 337 PAs) 8. Jason Marquis (5 HRs, 29 doubles, 2 triples in 576 PAs) 9. Andy Sonnanstine (.318/.400/.364 in 27 PAs)
  17. Can't argue with that logic. Gallardo, Liriano, and Buchholz are all huge bargains. Weaver is a good deal, too, for under $5 million.
  18. I think Gallardo may have better stuff, but he has yet to put it all together for a full season. His 2nd half in 2009 and 2010 was nothing to write home about. Meanwhile, Weaver pitches much better at home than he does on the road (so does Gallardo, for that matter, albeit in a SSS) and his strikeouts went way up last season from previous years, which was surprising. We'll have to see if he can duplicate or come close to his success from 2010 and if Gallardo can take the next step.
  19. To tell you the truth, I was kind of relieved that J/E took Holliday. I was strongly considering picking him and moving Gonzalez to center, but $16.33 M is a lot of money. Good pick, though, J/E. You've got a consistently awesome player on your hands.
  20. Yeah, I thought about doing that as well, but some players you just can't pass up. I have a general idea of the players I'm going to target, but sometimes you have to adjust your tactics, so it's difficult for me to guestimate how much I'll be spending on these guys.
