  1. Passan: Trade news: The Boston Red Sox are acquiring shortstop Adalberto Mondesi from the Kansas City Royals, sources tell ESPN. Deal is done. Players are being informed.
  2. Sure, but Barnes pretty consistently has blown games, whether it be 7th, 8th, 9th or whatever, it still takes a lot of failure to lead league in blown saves.
  3. Ramiel Tapia just posted on instagram he signed with the Red Sox... Yay I guess. Also, worth noting: Tapia is the guy who hit the pop up in center that Duran couldn't find and allowed and inside the park homer.. Now Tapia is essentially ensuring Duran wont make teams opening day roster.
  4. Tommy Pham to Mets.
  5. They've made two trades since 1997.
  6. I wouldn’t bet on the Sox and Yankees making a trade that has almost any significance
  7. Sox just signed catcher Jorge Alfaro to a minor league deal.
  8. Sure, but I don’t think anyone at the time thought Bautista would be anything more than a mediocre MLB player and certainly not the star he became. I don’t think Duran will be anywhere near that level or that he’ll even be good player. I was just pointing out that some guys are late bloomers Do I think Duran has earned the starting CF spot? Absolutely not. Do I think he should be release? Also absolutely not. I’m willing to keep him around at least for this season, which doesn’t look promising and seeing if he can finally put some of his tools to use. If he struggles again? Then yeah he sucks, just move on.
  9. Jose Bautista was hitting .237 with horrendous defense at age 28 and then signed with his 5th team, the Toronto Blue Jays. Some guys are late bloomers. Duran shouldn’t be handed anything, but if he figures it out, he has all the potential in the world.
  10. Yeah his defense is shockingly bad. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an outfielder with that speed be that awful at fielding. His comments/attitude after his bad defense definitely didn’t help his case either. I still have hopes for Duran, even if they’re not as high as they once were
  11. I’d give him more of a shot than Ort, who really hasn’t shown anything. I’m also not really sure how Duran was mentioned at all. I know he was bad last season but he at least has to carry a little trade value, unlike the others who are DFA candidates.
  12. Seabold is also a soft tosser who I’m not high on either. I’m not really concerned about losing him either.
  13. I mean if you guys want to have hope in a 35 year old Ryan Brasier and a 31 year old AAAA player, more power to you.
  14. Duran - I agree with. Ort is 31, and his fastball is about 96, that’s not elite in todays game.
  15. I have no idea how Ort and Brasier are still on this team…
  16. Andrus makes way too much sense at this point. I'd be shocked if Sox don't sign him.
  17. Miguel Rojas traded to Dodgers
  18. I don’t disagree, but Angels have been pretty inept all together. They’ve drafted almost all busts and made some horrible signings. They have arguably the two best players in the league and can’t even sniff playoffs.
  19. I’d like to think this team isn’t as incompetent as the Angels. The Angels couldn’t build a team around Trout, even when he was on a rookie contract. Trout has as many MVPs as he does playoff games played in.
  20. Sure, but to get a talent like Soto, who pretty much the entire league is going to be competing for, it’s going to require a lot of money to acquire him. He has a swing/baseball eye that shouldn’t decline anytime soon. Dude is hall of fame talent hitter and an automated strike zone would actually benefit him with how good his knowledge of the zone is and we may see that change sooner rather than later
  21. As risky as signing someone for that big and long of a contract is, Soto is one guy I’d do it for.
  22. I like this idea. We aren’t going anywhere anyway and might as well use the extra money for a prospect, even if it’s a dart throw
  23. A few reporters are saying Story knew he needed surgery but was hoping rest would allow him to avoid surgery Guess we'll see how this story develops...
  24. Those 4 guys you mentioned are also generational talents who probably all make the hall of fame, especially Mookie and Trout, those guys don’t come around often.
  25. I’m sure many of us are asking this same question…
