  1. Andrus makes way too much sense at this point. I'd be shocked if Sox don't sign him.
  2. Miguel Rojas traded to Dodgers
  3. I don’t disagree, but Angels have been pretty inept all together. They’ve drafted almost all busts and made some horrible signings. They have arguably the two best players in the league and can’t even sniff playoffs.
  4. I’d like to think this team isn’t as incompetent as the Angels. The Angels couldn’t build a team around Trout, even when he was on a rookie contract. Trout has as many MVPs as he does playoff games played in.
  5. Sure, but to get a talent like Soto, who pretty much the entire league is going to be competing for, it’s going to require a lot of money to acquire him. He has a swing/baseball eye that shouldn’t decline anytime soon. Dude is hall of fame talent hitter and an automated strike zone would actually benefit him with how good his knowledge of the zone is and we may see that change sooner rather than later
  6. As risky as signing someone for that big and long of a contract is, Soto is one guy I’d do it for.
  7. I like this idea. We aren’t going anywhere anyway and might as well use the extra money for a prospect, even if it’s a dart throw
  8. A few reporters are saying Story knew he needed surgery but was hoping rest would allow him to avoid surgery Guess we'll see how this story develops...
  9. Those 4 guys you mentioned are also generational talents who probably all make the hall of fame, especially Mookie and Trout, those guys don’t come around often.
  10. I’m sure many of us are asking this same question…
  11. The fact Correa failed two different physicals and had to accept significantly less money and years makes me wonder how bad his injury concerns are. That’s almost unheard of.
  12. Passan: Trevor Story underwent UCL surgery with an internal brace on his right elbow -- in other words, modified Tommy John surgery with a quicker return date. Generally speaking, players miss four to six months following the surgery. So he is going to miss regular season time it sounds like…
  13. Passan: BREAKING: Shortstop Carlos Correa and the Minnesota Twins are finalizing a six-year, $200 million contract, sources tell ESPN. The deal has a vesting option that can max out at $270 million. It is pending physical
  14. If you want an idea of how bad sex crimes are often handled, just read Felipe Vazquez Wikipedia page, check out everything he did, everything he admitted too and try justifying how he only got 2-4 years in prison. He is a literal rapist pedophile with child porn all over his computer.
  15. There is a lot more out there, but that gist of just those two woman’s stories, pictures and the idiots own comments should give you a general idea of why he for the suspension and why the Dodgers don’t want him, despite the fact he’s an ace level pitcher
  16. Prosecuting sex crimes is extremely difficult, even with proof. Bauer beat the s*** out of a woman and tried saying it was “consensual” then once the disturbing pictures came out of the woman, Bauer admitted he hit her but “didn’t mean to hit her that hard” or “that many times”. She’s one of only three, and Bauer has been involved in three of these type of incidents, including one where he choked out a girl and raped her while she was unconscious and there is text proof of him telling people he did it. “Then in April, the Post reported another Ohio woman's claim that Bauer also choked her unconscious and sodomized her without her consent during his time with Cleveland's minor league affiliate in Columbus, Ohio. She also shared screenshots of text messages with the Post purportedly showing Bauer telling her, "I want to f*** you while you are completely unconscious."” “ “I didn’t feel like I hit you that hard, you know?” Bauer said. The call was 28 minutes long and Bauer admitted to hitting the woman but not realizing how hard he was hitting her or that she was unconscious at during their sexual encounter. Bauer expressed remorse during the call and asked her if he could do anything for her. An independent arbitrator reinstated Trevor Bauer but he was promptly released by the Dodgers.”
  17. How is replacing JD with Justin Turner “nobody”? JD wasn’t very good last season and Turner wouldn’t have to do much to replace his production. We aren’t losing prime JD, we’re losing 2022 JD.
  18. He might not be a “rapist” technically, but he is a serial sexual predator and scum human.
  19. I honestly think the biggest factor this season is going to be health of the rotation, obviously any team could say this, but I think it’s especially true with this rotations injury history/ages.
  20. It’s definitely a debatable topic, but it worked out for Astros
  21. I know why the Astros did the trade. I was just defending Vazquez, who I think we all know isn’t actually a backup, he is clearly a top 30 catcher and a starter in this league. Maldonado is just one of those weird cases where stat wise he looks bad, but pitchers and teammates love him and he does a phenomenal job of calling games, framing, defense and etc. don’t even think Astros care if he hit at all.
  22. Changing starting catchers near the end of the season is tough, especially when Maldonado is one of the most well respected game callers and defensive catchers in the league. Everywhere he has gone, pitchers have loved him. It’s one of those things where the stats don’t tell the whole story.
  23. I think it has more to do with how much the Astros staff respects and loves working with Maldonado than it has to do with anything Vazquez himself did.
  24. I don’t disagree with the way the case was handled and with what you are saying. The woman definitely didn’t help herself or the case by for some reason agreeing to meet with Bauer a second time. However, Bauer many times has either commented or tweeted basically admitting guilt and what he did. He literally made comments about not realizing “how hard he hit her” or “how many times he hit her” or “I thought she was conscious”. He might be “innocent” in the eyes of the law, but everyone knows what he did. He didn’t get that suspension and the dodgers aren’t letting him walk if they truly thought he was innocent.
  25. The bar is also low. The Red Sox weren’t good in 2022, I don’t think they’ll be great or anything but hoping for a competitive team and outdoing 2022 isn’t crazy. On paper the rotation and bullpen should be better, the lineup should be about the same, if not better. I fully expect Devers to have a better season, Story to stay more healthy and a Kike bounce back and for more 1B production. I don’t think any of those expectations are crazy. Is this a playoff team? I doubt it, I don’t think the rotation can stay healthy. Is this team a team that can be competitive and we won’t feel like torture watching? I think they can be
