  1. Not really funny. I think most people frustrated with Bloom are also frustrated with Henry.. Both are getting a lot of blame and they’re usually lumped together
  2. That’s my biggest gripe. There isn’t really a clear direction. This clearly isn’t a “win now” team and if you knew you weren’t re-signing Xander, JD and Nate, why keep them and let them walk? Why then make moves like signing an old closer in Jansen? Very confusing
  3. Dodgers are another example. They buy a lot of players but also always have prospects coming up and contributing. You can develop your farm while still keeping stud players on MLB roster
  4. That’s a bit aggressive, especially on Christmas
  5. I don’t blame you. I usually try to have a positive outlook on the season, especially before it even starts, but there isn’t much to be optimistic about right now
  6. It was poor value at the time, and in hindsight, it looks even worse.
  7. My bad, I thought you were implying the players were the greedy ones.
  8. Is it really greed if you are elite and what you do and want to get paid like it?
  9. Deshaun Watson was also “cleared”. I wouldn’t want Watson on my team and don’t want Bauer in Boston
  10. Sure. However, Sox went over the luxury tax without even paying Betts or Xander and instead paid a worse player in Trevor Story a decent sum of money. Then they followed this up by having a s***** season and not selling at the deadline. Additionally, If they wanted to avoid losing picks, why not sell players like Nate, JD, and even Xander If you know you aren’t re-signing them? Even if the return isn’t great, it’s better than getting nothing for a player you plan on losing anyway. The trade deadline was frustrating and sent mixed signals, and this off season has been more of the same. The Red Sox are currently projected the 16th highest pay roll and an extension to Devers seems less and less likely. Following this all up with Bloom and Henry making stupid comments about “doing everything they can” to keep Xander ans “building a championship contender” is also all ******** and is extremely annoying to hear as a fan as well
  11. And also, yes, these are additional great points.
  12. I mean they all should be spending more, I never disagreed with that, but especially someone like Henry, in a big market, worth a ton of money, and owns basically everything Red Sox related that gets revenue. There really isn’t an excuse for him to not spend and and keep the Red Sox star free agents, such as Xander and Devers.
  13. Every owner? Maybe not. The guy who owns the 3rd most valuable MLB franchise in John Henry? He absolutely should be spending more than most teams.
  14. I mean he saves payroll, sure, but he wasn’t a big impact player anymore and letting him go instead of paying him $18 million makes sense
  15. They also brought back Kershaw, signed Sydnergaard and signed JD Martinez and are expected to be heavily involved in the Ohtani sweepstakes next off season. And I’m not really sure id consider Bellinger much of a loss.
  16. That the thing is, money doesn’t matter to them. Even after giving Betts his extension and taking Price contract, they still signed Freeman. Money doesn’t matter to these rich people, they’re in a different tax bracket
  17. I agree with this, and I did actually like Downs, but still hated the Mookie trade. Most people hated it at the time, but when the “top prospect” in the deal busts, it makes it way worse. I think David Price somehow gave the Dodgers more value as a relief pitcher than Downs gave Boston, which is absurd.
  18. It’s a few years away from officially happening, but Fenway Sports Group has been considered the big favorite for Vegas team for awhile.
  19. He’s too busy getting an NBA franchise in Vegas with Lebron James.
  20. And it’s definitely noticeable. I frequent Camden Yards and PNC a decent amount and it’s rare to see stadiums even half filled, especially with orioles/pirates fans. It’s majority opposing team fans.
  21. Exactly. That is partially why teams like Pittsburgh, Oakland and Baltimore don’t care, no matter how bad they are, they’ll make a profit and there is no ramifications for not fielding a competitive team.
  22. I mean the Red Sox ownership could be doing the same thing, it’s on them. All these owners are rich and with the money they want to charge fans at the stadium, the team they are fielding should be illegal.
  23. Good for Steve Cohen. It’s actually refreshing seeing one of the filthy rich *******s spend all his money and want to win this bad.
  24. All the owners should be held to a certain standard. It is a miracle fans continue rooting for teams like the Pirates who make 3x as much as they spend in just television deals, and make a ridiculous profit each season, while putting together some of the worst rosters we'll ever see, never pay any stars, ship them off when its time to pay them and rinse and repeat.
  25. It happened in 2015, he was cleared a long time ago, and well before the trade. The media just brought it up and labeled him an “off the field risk” when realistically he’s done nothing, he didn’t even do anything that night, he was at the wrong place when something horrible happened and was questioned.
