I think they can start with this. Maybe someone takes a big step forward, maybe they don't. I think the rotation and offense is good enough to contend in a weak AL East as is. If no one steps up into that stopper role then I would want one added before the TDL.

Yes a stopper be nice, but if the cost prevents one from being acquired until later on than it's not the end of the world.

Everyone has been so focused on the Sox needs I think we've over looked how weakish the East has become. There is no really scary team.

No one. That's what people aren't paying attention to. The division is not full of world beaters. They Yankees new hat logo should be ?, because they have one just about everywhere. Baltimore lost Miller, Cruz and Markakis, Davis is a ? and their rotation is good but not great. Toronto is trying to piece together something but I'm not scared of them and TB is rebuilding.

Once you stop and think about it, it is rather striking that there isn't a sure fire #1 in the ALE. And you don't see anyone mentioning anywhere in the media either. It's all "the Sox lack a #1" when really the same can be said about the all division teams.

That's if they get anyone else. I can see them standing pat unless something falls in their lap. Then see whos available before August. I like Kelly actually. I think he has #2 potential with possibility of a #1 if he has a big break through. If starting doesn't work out I can see him being a good flame throwing late inning reliever.
