  1. He had a bad game today. If he's pitching like this after 5 starts it's time to worry a bit. I honestly think he needs TJS. Guys are getting the surgery when they sprain or stretch the ligament. A tear to me was ludicrous to try and rehab. But that's me and I'm certainly not a Dr.
  2. No one was reasonably expecting a lot from the C position offensively this season. We were expecting good defense tho, and from what I can gather on this guy, that will still be the case.
  3. Sucks for Vasquez. He should be back next year tho. I like the Leon pick up. He's exactly what they need. Defensive first and can be easily dumped if the team needs to do something else. I'd rather they not rush Swihart but I'm not gonna be surprised if they have to call him up at some point this season.
  4. Vic's back is a ticking time bomb. He stopped switch hitting because or the soreness. That to me says his back is not close to 100% and it's going to be a ? all season long. If some team is offering something decent(BP arm?) they should jump on it. I'm a Vic fan and am grateful for what he's done for the Sox, but he's too risky to plug in as the everyday RF for me. I'd trade Vic and Nava. Hanley, Betts, and Castillo as the starting OF with Craig being 4th OF and Bradley starting in AAA. I really wanna see what Craig has with the bat this year. He could be a good replacement for an aging Napoli next year. I'm not high on Bradley, but he has made it interesting enough to where I think he will be good depth if someone goes down or Craig flames out.
  5. No they don't look good now but ST results hold little water for me both good and bad. If the donkey ballism hasn't gone away by May, I will be more concerned.
  6. He will miss half the season with that injury lol
  7. Always a possibility.
  8. Always a possibility.
  9. It's not just the Sox scouts. Everyone across the league was high on this kid.
  10. Pretty much my exact prediction lol
  11. It's certainly a flawed system.
  12. If they miss the playoffs 3 straight seasons, all hell is gonna break loose in Yankee-land.
  13. I'm not huge on Hamels. His age is a bit of a concern, but I guess less since he really isn't a power P. I don't particularly like his numbers against the AL. I would not be happy in any scenario involving Swihart, Betts and Xander being dealt. These are the types of offensive threats you need to ride until the end. I also would like them to keep Kelly but I guess I could waiver on that. JBJ+ Cechinni+ Owens + a lotto ticket if the Phillies kick in 10M+ is the absolute most I'd give up for him. And I doubt that makes Amaro jump right now.
  14. I'm feeling the same way. I'm not sure they will ever throw 150M+ at a SP again and that's what the market is for an "ace". I'm also really looking forward to seeing how Porcello does this year.
  15. ^ This. There are scenarios I would deem as palatable, but they would be pretty unlikely.
  16. James Blunt is phenomenal on twitter Exactly. This team has a very young high potential core. Xander, Betts, Swihart, and Moncada could be the 4 horsemen of the Red Sox Apocalypse on the league for the next 10 years haha.
  17. I doubt it. I think Xander is the type of talent you hold onto until he flames out, trade value be damned. If both Xander in Moncada reach their potentials, the Sox could have a 50HR+ left side of the IF in a couple years. In in todays offensive light league that would be absolutely insane production that every fanbase and front office around the league will drool over.
  18. It doesn't really imo. They still aren't moving Xander or Swihart. I guess it could be argued it makes Betts possibly "more available", but I think they still hold onto him. They only way Hamels comes to Boston is for JBJ, Vazquez, and 1-2 SP prospects(Owens and maybe a Ball type). The Sox are already over the LT, so I'd be surprised if they made a move for Hamels before the date of the new LT year(April I believe).
  19. Boston offer was 31.5M. Yankees offered 25M and were willing to go to 27M if needed. LOL the all mighty Yanks lost out on him for 4.5M. I absolutely stunned. No word on where the Dodgers came in at yet.
  20. It probably killed him inside to write that post, so props to him being real and not resorting to the chart.
  21. Dude lives in a glue factory. Most of what I have read has said he's a 2B that can play 3B. SS was almost always mentioned as a long shot.
  22. They have the same length of control as they would have had if they drafted him i believe. A700 it appears like a steal because all the talk so far had been in the 40-50m range(80-100m with penalty).
  23. Ya I am looking forward to that lol "hes a punk ass kid, we wanted Alvarez all along and fooled everyone into going after Moncada!!"
  24. Im guessing he will get some time in the low a ball league in Florida to start then if all goes well he probably spends most the season in Portland. I think his eta is 1-3 seasons depending on his progress and the teams needs. But that's just my personal opinion and haven't seen anything anywhere about it.
  25. Nice! 30m seems like a steal. Thats a big add to the farm system. Can not believe the Yanks or Dodgers didn't to that.
