  1. Theo has followed his plan out in rebuilding the Cubs. He purged the roster, rebuilt the farm system and spent the money when the team showed its ready for contention. It is on the players and coaches now. Cubs fans should be thrilled at the direction of that ball club.
  2. I am with you Dojji, love Pedroia and what he brings to the field but he is not going to age well. I said it when they signed him to his extension. Unfortunately he is owed a lot of money still and hasn't finished a season in a few years not on the DL. Not sure many teams are gonna be lined up to make a deal for him. We as fans are just gonna have to suck it up and cross our fingers for his remaining years just like Yank fans had to with Jeter. And in the end I'm ok with that considering who he is and what he has done for the Sox in his career.
  3. Seattle fans already calling for Dipito's head on a stake lol
  4. I am seeing Smith is a power arm and Mariner fans aren't happy to see him go. Elias looks like a pre arb lotto ticket with upside. Not a terrible trade imo
  5. Anyone know anything about these guys?
  6. RP Carson Smith and LH SP Roenis Elias
  7. It's Miley. I agree with Pal tho, if it's for spare parts I am not a fan of the trade
  8. Latest buzz from Frodo is Seattle and Boston are moving towards a deal for Miley. No speculation on the return
  9. Miley is a cost controlled innings eater the pitched ok in his first season in the AL East. He has decent value to any number of clubs, especially NL teams.
  10. He got banned?!?! Lmfao you gotta fill me in on that
  11. Maeda is interesting for a mid rotation option. I've seen reports saying his expected contract(posting fee not included) is in the 5/80m area. I wonder how hard the Sox will be shopping Miley at the WM? IMO he is the one getting traded if the Sox are still looking to add a SP. Idk what they should do with Kelly. He seems to have shown enough at the end of the season to warrant another look as a SP. I've seen people want him in the BP as a power arm and on the surface that seems like a good idea but Kelly struggles when he is out there letting it rip and thats kinda what you would want him doing if he is a RP. Buchholz I have no faith in. Hopefully he pitches well before he lands on the shelf.
  12. Glad to see some things don't change here haha Theo exits- "he was a baboons ass he deserves no credit for those WS titles!" Cherington exits- "he was a baboons ass, Theo deserves credit for the '13 WS title" Lol I have missed this place more than I thought. Where the hell is Fred btw?
  13. Been away for awhile, bought a house and have been busy all summer. But had to come on for this! I like the move, don't care about the money lol And for those saying he won't opt out at 33 cause he wont be able to do better then 4/120mish lets not forget Grienke is 32 and the rumored offers for him are in the 5 to 6 year range at 30M+. If Price stays a top flight SP the next 3 years he will surely opt out imo. All in all.... Yaaaay! Hope everyone is doing well
  14. Kelly has had enough really good starts to keep running him out there and see if he finds more consistency. Chili for whatever reason doesn't seem to fit well with the current roster imo. But it's always hard to tell just from watching the games. If he's fired it won't shock or anger me. 2 months is kind of a small sample size but watching the offense struggle night in and night out is getting old as a fan. The rotation seems to overall have gotten better to me since the new PC, but it's way early so that is gonna have to play out over the year.
  15. Finally that gauntlet of LHP is over. Papi still looks off but wow has Napoli finally found it. Dude went from corpse to en fuego over night haha
  16. We got some truth and knowledge being given way here people
  17. I think having him start at 2B is smart. It's his so called "natural" position and most importantly it's about getting him comfortable in pro ball this year. There's no reason to throw everything at this kid at once. Too bad about the hammy.
  18. You could easily point out Bogaerts has been the best hitter with RISP this season and laugh
  19. Swihart is starting today. Excited to see what this kid can do!
  20. I'm excited to see what Swihart can do at the ML level. Is he starting today?
  21. Idk if I see the Yanks giving up what little top end talent they have in the minors and taking on another big contract. But they have surprised me before. I think LAD and St. Louis seem like better bets of landing Hamels. Even with the rotations struggles I'm still not big on Hamels.
  22. lol that was pretty funny
  23. Was he extended or did they just buy out his arb years? That makes a difference imo. I haven't liked what I've seen from him at all so far, but it's far too soon to write him off. The whole rotation needs consistency. Kelly and Buchholz are either great or cannon fodder. Porcello has had some really good stretches, followed shortly by innings he seems to think he's throwing BP. Masterson hasn't done anything noteworthy. But the team is hovering above .500 with the rest of the division so there is time to let these guys try to and work it out and get used to their surroundings.
  24. He looked like a nibbling Dice K yesterday. If he's had to change they way he pitches so much because of the elbow, that should have been a clue to get the surgery out of the way. Instead he's going to possibly waste his prime trying to get by and not get hurt. Like I said before it's only one start.
  25. 162-0!!!!!!!!!11!1 woooooooot
