  1. Prado and Phelps for Jones and Eovaldi
  2. Prado getting dealt to the Marlins per mlbtr
  3. I wanted to get more into the Scherzer topic from the Yanks stand point that was being discussed between you and Pal, but some would get pissy with it being Yanks stuff lol So what's going on in Yankee land Jacko? Are they really gonna resist Shields and/or Scherzer? I mean what you said about seeing what they have now and going after Price/Cueto next year seems like the better bet but can they actually do it? Is the fan base going to lose their s*** because the team hasn't done anything "Yankees" like this off season?
  4. Not many LHH C available really. Next best thing is a good defensive C with a good rep with P's.
  5. Only way to get more for WMB was to let him rebuild value and that wasn't really gonna happen with the roster the way it is. He will get a shot in SD and wish him luck. And wtf is going on in SD lol that team has insane RHH power potential. And IIRC they just moved the LF fences in.
  6. WMB to Padres for Hanigan, almost done deal per mlbtr.
  7. Padres selling the farm. Just acquired Upton to go alongside Kemp and Myers.
  8. The Nats have money and interest.
  9. Gallardo would be interesting. But i don't see any point in giving up any good chips for a 1 year rental at this point. Wait till the tdl when prices are better for soon to be FA and go from there.
  10. Not sure he is the dominate type, my hope is he is a + defender and a catalyst for the offense. With his skill set and tools its not out of the question. I don't see him being a banger in the lineup. But then again haven't seen a whole lot of him.
  11. Ya I agree with this. I think he is completely off the table at this point.
  12. I think I'd go Betts leadoff as I think he might be a bit more of a threat on the base paths going forward but if Pedroia is leading off I wouldn't be upset.
  13. Knew nothing about the guy but a quick peak at the ol stat line and he appears to be a decent BP arm.
  14. Rays are the buzz of the day. They are in talks with SD for Myers supposedly but it could be way more than that. Rumors say it could end up being a 3 or 4 team deal. This deal could send ripples haha
  15. Wilson got dfa'd by LAD. Any interest to see if he can stick in the Sox pen?
  16. It's doubtful but possible. There aren't a ton of fits left. Shields is in an unusual spot I think. His market has been hit pretty good with a bunch of the guys lower than him on the free agent list have signed early and left him with far fewer suitors. And with guys like Scherzer and Zimmerman available in one way or another his market could get even smaller. Just saying it's a possibility.
  17. Shields market could drop. If it comes down into the 4 year 15-20M AAV range I could see the Sox getting involved. No way Scherzer get's less than the 144M(according to Detroit)/160M(according to Boras). And that's already more than Lester. Just doesn't look like a fit with the Sox.
  18. Like they could have gotten older lol If you see 2 40 year olds come off the roster and you are older the following year, you got problems And 34 for a SP is old. In today's game SP 33-34 are starting the twilight of their careers.
  19. He signed for less then Victor Martinez lol
  20. Yanks sign Chase Headley 4/52M. I thought he sign for more $ but the years seem right. SO does that mean Prado to 2B?
  21. Only 2 of those guys have pitched outside the steroid era. But yes I get there are exceptions to what I'm saying. But do we really want lay down a 5 year gamble and hope they get the exception to the rule? I think it's less of a gamble to wait it out. Maybe Shields market falls to a more comfortable level idk, if not maybe sign another mid rotation guy and see what front end guys are available come the TDL.
  22. Only way he doesn't is if he is bad. And neither the FO or Stanton's camp think that will be the case. Loria will sell the team if it looks like Stanton is going to stay lol
  23. Because in todays game at age 33 Shields is already out of his prime imo. Yes he could be productive for those years or he could fall off a cliff like Halladay. You're a horse until you aren't. And they tend to fall off quick. You sign Shields to his age 38-39 season and your are all but guaranteeing its going to happen at some point during the deal you have given him. It was the same with CC, we all knew being a horse was gonna catch up to him eventually. It was just when it would bite the Yankees in the ass. The Sox stretched their comfort level for Lester. I don't see them doing it for a P entering his mid 30's.
  24. I think it be more surprising if they hadn't. If Scherzer goes to dc, which i think has a good chance of happening, the Nats will trade Zim. I have a hard time seeing them do it if no one else is brought it. They just traded Detwiller, so they aren't terribly deep at SP.
  25. No but it's built to contend for the division during the season. If a #1 doesn't emerge from the group they have assembled they will have to shop in June-July. I honestly feel there will be better options then. Shields, Scherzer, and Hamels all cost too much in one way or another. I don't see Cueto getting dealt until after the AS break and that is only if Cincy is out of it. There will be some more rentals but we will have to see which teams fall out before we know for sure.
