  1. Note the B12 reference in Canseco's book. Important to note that this book came out 2 years ago when reflecting on what Clemens says about B12...
  2. http://thesteroidera.blogspot.com/2007/07/jose-canseco-and-roger-clemens-quotes.html for those of you (like me) who would like to know what Canseco said without actually reading his book.
  3. So your analysis of this trade is that because Santana is a star and Blanton is not, Blanton will probably succeed and Santan will not?
  4. I'm like King Midas' evil, bizarro twin where everything I touch turns to tin foil. I've dropped almost a grand in profit in the last two weeks. I moved the Pats to -7 and that killed me (i was cursing that last second touchdown) I moved OU to -2 and that hurt a little, but nothing like last week's debacle. The Patriots have single handedly destroyed my winnings this year. Every time they've failed to cover I've either had them straight or teased, and I haven't won on them straight all year. Bob Stoops is a f***ing retard. 2 drives in a row WVU goes 3 and out, OU scored and cuts it to 5, he not only goes for two with almost half a game left, but then he onsides kicks? Your offense is finally clicking Your defense is now shutting them down WHY? That was the end of the game in my opinion.
  5. Thanks for the stellar advice Sean
  6. I must say, I've gained a lot of respect for him in the past year. He still can't manage a game to save his life though.
  7. No, I most certainly don't factor it in. They said he was fully recovered and back to 100% of his pitching self. To me that means "he's fully recovered and back to 100% of his pitching self" As far as the walks.... He let 5 homers every 6 games. You better hope the walks come down. And those walks were to the Orioles and D Rays. What he going to look like against a team with patience and stixx. Look, I dont hate the kid, I just am not drinking the local kool aid on him and i'm not factoring in the "feel good movie of the year" story on him. I think his stock is high, and my personal opinion is he's not going to pan out to be a "very good" pitcher. I think he'd never rise higher than a 5 in our rotation unless our rotation gets worse, which is not what we're looking for.
  8. Lester pitched well in a world series game. Good work by him. What was his season ERA? 4.57? Look at the teams he did it against too. TB and Baltimore made up half his starts and he had no starts against the yanks. I'm pretty sure Santana IS an enormous upgrade. But then again, I've never been that high on Lester so I may be biased.
  9. Funny story. Completely B.S., but a funny story nonetheless
  10. I actually think his rotation is ok this year. It keeps the same guys playing with eachother. He's resting his guys, too. I was at the Raptors game a couple weeks ago and we didnt see a single starter for more than 30 minutes. Listen- I'm not saying he's a good coach. He isn't a good coach. He's a bad coach. I do, however, think he isn't as bad as you're making him out to be. Unfortunately, I also think he will be one of the differences between this team winning a title and coming up short. Avery, Flip, D'Antoni, Van Gundy, Sloan, and Nelson will be able to make mince meat out of him.
  11. All the C's were jumping through fake jumpers all night. Big baby got his second foul in 20 seconds doing the same earlier. They knew the Celts played aggressive and jumped through jumpers so they just kept faking. Its a sign of good coaching and smart players. Doc Rivers isn't a good coach. I used to say how awful he was, but in my opinion he should get some credit for this teams consistent 3rd quarter play. They come out from halftime with adjustments and blow teams away in the 3rd consistently, and the coach should get some credit for that
  12. At least he is saying "We" instead of "I" now. Little Stein is going to run them into the ground.
  13. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3160063 NEW YORK -- Roger Clemens denied allegations by his former trainer that he took performance-enhancing drugs, calling them "a dangerous and destructive shortcut that no athlete should ever take.'' The accusations against the seven-time Cy Young Award winner from his former trainer, Brian McNamee, were contained in last week's Mitchell Report. Former Senate Majority Leader George Mitchell said McNamee said he injected Clemens with steroids in 1998 while with the Toronto Blue Jays, and steroids and human growth hormone in 2000 and 2001, while with the New York Yankees. "I want to state clearly and without qualification: I did not take steroids, human growth hormone or any other banned substances at any time in my baseball career or, in fact, my entire life,'' Clemens said Tuesday in a statement issued through his agent, Randy Hendricks. "Those substances represent a dangerous and destructive shortcut that no athlete should ever take. "I am disappointed that my 25 years in public life have apparently not earned me the benefit of the doubt, but I understand that Senator Mitchell's report has raised many serious questions. I plan to publicly answer all of those questions at the appropriate time in the appropriate way. I only ask that in the meantime people not rush to judgment.'' Another McNamee client, Yankees pitcher Andy Pettitte, said last weekend that he took HGH twice while rehabbing from an injury in 2002. Mitchell said McNamee told him he injected Pettitte with HGH two-to-four times that year. Baseball players and owners didn't have an agreement banning steroids until September 2002. They banned HGH in January 2005. I plan to publicly answer all of those questions at the appropriate time in the appropriate way. AKA, "Once i figure out answers that could sound believable and account for this stuff i'll get back to you"
  14. I think that the way the sox need to play it is to wait until the end of the season for Santana unless the yanks move on him, in which case they should go for him very hard. Worst case scenario would be that the yanks give too much for him.
  15. I wouldn't say its alienating....more wishful thinking in the form of a question.
  16. I'm sure Shonda doesn't give blowjobs because it would mess up the thirteen pounds of makeup she applies every morning, not to mention that the high protein residue being emitted would no doubt work as an enhancer for the tan she desperately wants to avoid. She compensates by taking it in the ass.
  17. I think my new nickname for Suzyn Waldman will be TCOAW (pronounced taco), standing for Throbbing Cock Of A Woman, because thats exactly what she is: a gigantic, veiny throbbing cock of a woman who's wasting the oxygen that our dwindling rainforests provide.
  18. oh man i didn't even think of Suzyn Waldman and her gushing man crush on Roger Clemens. I'm sure she'll come out and publicly say it can't be true. After all if anybody in the yankees organization would know about taking human growth hormones to muscle up and be more of a man itd be that raging bitch.
  19. I would say that professional sports run slightly tighter ships than Paris Hilton's "close" group of friends or Kevin Federline's "entourage" wouldn't you? I'm pretty sure the Red Sox clubhouse attendants aren't out blowing coke at 4am at "Rain" with Manny Ramirez while Curt Schilling's wife is running around downtown Tampa with a 2 inch skirt and no underwear. But that could just be me.
  20. Yeah but that means the rest of us have to talk about PECOTA averages and acronyms i've (and others) never heard of and don't care enough to hear about. The other thread isn't even a Santana thread, its a bunch of people using regression analysis to prove whether Chris Carter's hands will improve, and deep philosophical discussions about whether RZR or Fielding Percentage are more appropriate. In the last page of that thread, it took 9 posts to actually discuss "Santana", and the only reason he was being discussed was to make a separate thread.
  21. Well i can tell you who is NOT going to divulge things, HHM. And thats some guy with a dream job at a lower level who hasn't been indicted or accused of selling steroids by the federal government. "Gee, I really like working with professional athletes all day and this job is absolutely awesome, but f*** it, I'm gonna talk about everything suspicious here that i've ever seen. Let's bag us some cheaters!"
  22. this is what i was laughing at....
  23. hahahaha.
  24. How many current Red Sox players are on the list? Brendan Donnelly How many current yankees? (ignore the balco stuff from much earlier- nothing new) Andy Pettite How many former players with sox ties? Roger Clemens Mo Vaughn Mike Lansing Eric Gagne Brendan Donnelly Paxton Crawford Kent Mercker Mike Stanton Steve Woodard Chris Donnels Josias Manzanillo Former players with yankees ties? Roger Clemens Andy Pettitte David Justice Denny Neagle Mike Stanton Chuck Knoblauch Glenallen Hill Kevin Brown Ron Villone Rondell White I'm not going to clal you any names HHM, or weigh in on your before and after, but tell me, how , exactly, is this list unbalanced? The fact that you are even comparing lists against each other to see "how many" is kind of ridiculous as it is, don't you think?
  25. if they are going to trade Ellsbury they might as well throw Lester in too- he'll have nowhere to pitch in that rotation, and that way they could keep the other prospects from the deal Beckett Santana Dice K Schilling Bucholz Wake
