  1. it appears Bosox21 tried to "go there" and got firmly denied
  2. One day I hope to meet another person in this world with a Buchholz jersey. I think that day will be coming soon
  3. its not so much that people think they could do a better job but that really a lot of people could do the same thing with what he has to work with. How good a manager is is directly related to how good the players are.
  4. He was alright
  5. It is? Frankly I see his upside as a .800 OPS hitter in the NL and probably less here
  6. Im not arguing Gonzalez over Hardy, that's obvious because Gonzalez is a replacement level player. But Hardy isn't going to come free so if you're going to invest in a SS at least make it someone good like Escobar, Drew, or just let Lowrie heal over the offseason.
  7. So you guys want an NL player who was a minor leaguer at one point this year (and a crappy one at that)?
  8. Utter disaster
  9. Schilling and Beckett were ace pitchers though. Where's the Brad Penny of the NL who's a below average pitcher that sucked in the NL and came to the AL to light it up? There are none EDIT: ,Champ
  10. lol of text
  11. I like this thread
  12. Angels are the kind of team that puts up a strong and consistent regular season and then gets steamrolled in the playoffs. The playoffs are all about the impact players and the Angels have basically run dry. I don't think anyone can name ONE guy who they'd actually worry about coming into a game. Krod is gone, as are the other parts that used to make up their pen. Weaver and Lackey are solid and consistent but don't stack up at all to Lester and Beckett. Brian Fuentes? I'd be happy to see him come in, Joe Borowski part II.
  13. Ya I dont see why we should settle for anything less than a World Series win. We have the talent and experience to go all the way again. It's not unreasonable for any legit playoff contender to have the WS win as the one and only goal.
  14. Im mildly interested in this guy. I wouldn't book his flight to the majors just yet but he's yet to reach a level where he has been remotely challenged so if he keeps performing than they need to keep sending him up the ladder. Hitting .400+ in your first 73 AB with a 12/5 BB/K is pretty impressive.
  15. The deal seems fine from a talent standpoint, but Santana is about to have surgery and Beltran is a little on the older side. If we're going to really splurge on someone (and lets be honest that deal empties a good portion of the high-upside guys who are actually performing) then I'd rather they take that deal to Florida (Hanley) or Seattle (Felix) so we can get someone who's younger and significantly less expensive (allows us to use the resources elsewhere).
  16. No thanks
  17. Eric Gagne signed babe-ruth league baseball, o yea
  18. You are a moron || || || V
  19. Lugo is hitting the ball, that's pretty good proof there... But anyway Dan Haren is pitching like Pedro Martinez there and Javier Vasquez is an 'ace'. Im surprised Santana isn't the best pitcher of all time, but then again his peripherals have dropped off from where they used to be.
  20. I dont think people understand how much weaker the NL is compared to the AL
  21. His 05 season included a)pitching in AAAA, b)pitching in an extreme hitters park, and c) a .199 BABIP. He had a solid season but those numbers he put up were never going to be replicated and they never were. He's an average MLB MR, I don't think there was any ruining.
