  1. We should have gotten Matt Kemp
  2. A little premature, Cherry came in and allowed the two runners LOB to score. But still a solid outing, 90 pitches btw
  3. Nice bounce back innings
  4. USE THAT PITCH MORE, ITS FILTHY
  5. I guess I don't get what you're looking for. Never was Markakis an option for the Sox over Drew and it's not like we're comparing home grown talents here either as Drew is much older. Seems like another carefully disguised thread to get people riled up about Drew. But whatever I'm done here, my choice is Drew for this remainder of the year
  6. Whats the points of this thread? Markakis is basically BAL's franchise player Besides I'd rather have Reddick and really it's not like either one is head over heels above the other this year: Drew: .250/.366/.455/.821, WARP: 1.9 Markakis: .298/.352/.466/.818, WARP: 1.1
  7. Seemed to work out pretty well for him
  8. the quoted post got me excited that Don Orsillo was back to posting here
  9. Reddick is one bamf
  10. Papelbon looked pretty good in terms of throwing strikes, but really he could cut down the pitches if he would just throw ONE other pitch outside of his fastball to keep people honest. It's a tough FB to hit obviously but it's easier to hit if the hitters knows it is coming EVERY time.
  11. Towers had a million chances over the past couple years to get a better package then this
  12. Blue Jays wanted Buchholz, Bard and more...
  13. With Halladay as the only major SP target out there (outside of Lee) there wasn't a whole lot to fall back on unless you wanted to take a chance on an injured Peavy or Washburn. I know you'd make the trade but Buchholz/Bard+ price was way too steep and I don't no how you can't question that if you've watched the past two weeks of baseball. As for SS, the organization has faith in Lowrie and for good reason. He hit .258/.339/.400/.739 last year in his rookie year and has been fairly highly regarded as a prospects. I don't think the FO is going to let 23 AB since his return affect any judgment on his playing ability. And OF, there is no Dave Roberts out there. They acquired necessary depth guys in case something happens and I don't think you can ask for much more.
  14. Anyway I give Theo an 'A'. We upgraded the offense with Martinez (who is not just a half-year acquisition, we get him next year also) and Buchholz/Bard/Kelly/Westmoreland/Bowden/Anderson/Reddick/Tazawa are still part of the organization, exceptional work. I like Martinez a lot and he should effectively keep Lowell and Varitek out of the lineup everyday. I like the Kotchman trade also. Upgrades the defense and he's under our control through 2011 for cheap money
  15. I personally prefer Ecks as the color guy actually
  16. Jerry Hairston Jr.? I think if you're worst problem is your 5th OF spot then you're doing ok. I think Anderson and Duncan will be find for a stand-in in the event of an injury.
  17. Please name a legit example of what they could have done. Bay/Ellsbury/Drew are not going anywhere and Baldelli has hit pretty well as a 4th OF
  18. We know
  19. Agreed, that's not a trade I would have ever made.
