  1. Did you not see the huge f***ing text on the last page? Its over, I didn't read any of that stupid argument anyway
  2. Edes is an idiot, he also said the Martinez deal makes it "all but impossible" for the Red Sox to deal for Halladay
  3. I like Kotchman, only 26 and has really solid plate discipline. That said he's probably headed elsewhere
  4. We traded Hunter Strickland and Argenis Diaz for Laroche...I don't think we're getting Escobar back unless Laroche is a throw-in
  5. Bard>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Bell, NO. And f*** Buchholz for Martinez too I would strangle someone if that happened
  6. Bowden really starting to put the whole package together. For a while he was working on his slider so the results were a little lackluster, but over the 12 day all-star break for him he supposedly worked on some stuff out of the pen and has come back extremely strong. Last three starts: 5.0 IP, 0 hits, 0 ER, 4 BB, 5 K 7.0 IP, 4 hits, 2 ER, 0 BB, 5 K 7.0 IP, 6 hits, 1 ER, 0 BB, 6 K 19.0 IP, 10 hits, 2 HRA, 4 BB, 16 K, 1.42 ERA. Shame that there is no room in the rotation because he's a MLB ready SP
  7. lol same reaction, a nice-looking pitch that wasn't a fastball
  8. that was disgusting
  9. Gotta love steriods
  10. High-A to Double-A is by far the biggest jump in the minors. Once players have success at AA then they are pretty much getting very close to being MLB ready. AAA isn't a whole lot more advanced and is mostly comprised of your Kotsay type players (AAAA guys with MLB experience) while AA contains the Reddick types. For pitchers especially, Masterson/Papelbon/Lester/Buchholz/Bard all pitched less than 50 innings before getting the callup. If there was space Bowden probably could/would have been up in May
  11. What about all the other years when he's made moves? You're acting like he sits on his ass every trade deadline
  12. Ed Price twitters that the Jays are trying to get the Sox to take on Rios as part of the Halladay trade
  13. To be honest Diane, I'm surprised
  14. Buchholz, Lin, Weiland, Mailman, and Place for Halladay, there's 5 for ya JP
  15. Unless Theo is really going after Halladay then I'm disappointed he didn't make a bigger push for Lee. The Phillies have three top 25 prospects in their system and another pitcher in Happ that has high value and they traded NONE of them. Seems like Anderson, Bowden, and say Kalish would have gotten the deal done from our side which would have allowed us to keep Buchholz and have a rotation of Beckett/Lester/Lee/Buchholz/Wakefield.
  16. *Insert witty post about trading Penny using the word Penny*
  17. Hey one year anniversary of blow it up 2008! (and the blow it up 2008 parody thread) http://www.talksox.com/forum/talk-sox-forum/10954-blow-up.html
