  1. Knee-jerk reaction in August, such a thing? WHY CAN'T THEY GET OVER THE HUMP?! WHYWHYWHY?! Anger, much, yes. It's not April, guys, it's not early, gaaaah.
  2. Ok, I was merely wondering why the Yankees game thread kept jumping from forum to forum. I guess it's found its home here. I think the last part is the most diplomatic thing you've said. I shall only enjoy this if Johnson doesn't get shelled like his ERA states.
  3. Why is this in "Fights"? Is it going to get ugly? Ouch, RJ, ouch!
  4. It's not going to be a science, whoever picks it; it's still going to be a subjective thing. Players and managers do have a part. Fans pay the ridiculous ticket prices; it's a nice gesture that they have a say. I guess nobody wanted Jeter in it? Nobody? Aww.
  5. I'm just saying, either you say that Yankee fans are cold machines, or have hearts so it would be so much sweeter to crush it? One or the other?
  6. If it's not a tumor, then it's a rumor. Waitwait, Yankee fans have "hearts"? You can't have it both ways.
  7. I knew that was coming. I'd like to see it happen just one time, maybe, to see what kinda crap policy Selig might come up with.
  8. Hey, hope this isn't too off-topic, but what happens if the ASG is rained-out? Who gets HFA?
  9. Win the whole thing? Texas ain't winning nothin' if they can't win against Oklahoma, and the game against Ohio State will be very telling for both teams. If Mack Brown can't win one of two, he'll be honing his "BCS Speech, part two", and voters won't be so sympathetic this year. LOL, Matt Leinart has all his graduation credits, but he has to enroll in one class to be NCAA-eligible, so he's taking ballroom dancing with his girlfriend. I don't think they'll be like, FOUR undefeated teams this year, but that's why a loss can be devastating.
  10. Aaron Small, you are the team pitching hero for the Yankees month of August. Thanks.
  11. Himself? Well, no, 'course a little anagnorisis would be too much to ask for. Mwahaha.
  12. Why would she say that, especially since it's not like the Red Sox are dropping Epstein for him? No way. Not all moves are Cashman's fault. Was he the one how axed the (albeit, possibility) of Vlad being a Yankee? No. Was he the one who signed Womack? No. Title of Yankees GM is a bit deceptive. There's Tampa faction and Steinbrenner, who has the final say.
  13. Actually, not that I have anything against the Cubs, I'm taking the Cardinals in that rivalry. Cubs fans must be miffed that the one-two pitching punch is Buehrle-Garland, not Prior-Wood. Yeah, one day when all three teams get rid of their curses, what's next, apocalypse? :dunno:
  14. Aww shucks, sure miss Andy right about now.
  15. Yeah, I know. Yankee fans suffer wrist injuries from banging their hands on the counter from watching this team ineptness at times, but we still come back. Frickin' pitching sure is delicate, though. Winning titles, heck, even being in contention, isn't something to be taken for granted. I guess many people forget that the Yankees weren't always the success story.
  16. Sox Fan on Cape: LOL, I remember getting us into this another time. I meant to say it's interesting thing to see; I'm not offended. Maybe I should go over to the YES boards and find some blind optimism. But my IQ would drop a couple points.
  17. Oh no, I think it's quite amusing and funny. In a way it shows how much the Yankees get under your skin. Yeah, I can definitely take a joke or two. More competition in the AL East will be a good thing. Looking forward to seeing that.
  18. Nah, he's a huge draw in Houston, and plus that's why they drafted Koby, right?
  19. You are going to dig up EVERYTHING where the Sox trump the Yanks, right? Mwahaha, now Steinbrenner has to get on his PR peeps or something.
  20. Sosa was caught with a corked bat.
  21. I think he meant at the time which Giambi took them, there was no steroid policy in MLB.
  22. Baltimore fans have had it though. The Ravens players got into some legal trouble...so yeah.
  23. It's incredibly unfair to players who haven't tested positive, to be implicated in these allegations. Pujols, Rodriguez, etc. Ortiz by the way, advocated for MLB to educate kids in the DR about the hazards of steroids, so it's highly unlikely that he would do that stuff. And yes it's clear many of you hate the Yankees, but it could be the pressure a player puts on himself to succeed here, than the team shoving steroids down his throat. Or maybe the Yankees organization doesn't command the respect it once did. LIST, PLEASE!
  24. Sounds like another guy on the roster. Bullpen is exhausted right now; I'm baffled at some of Torre's moves, but wherever Small helps out the most, that's fine by me.
  25. About the US Open - aren't they going to make the court blue, to make the ball easier to see or something. At first I thought this was akin to the glowing puck (white ice, black puck...what's so hard about it??), but I guess, whatever? They would never dye the grass blue in Wimbledon, I don't think anyways, however I suppose this year they're doing a lot of things to promote the game, such as having the nicknames. It would be cool to see Agassi go out on top, like Sampras did, but I don't think his game is quite there.
