Didn't Palmeiro get extra time with his appeal, before his name was released? Favortism doesn't fly with me. I can understand if they want to make sure that there's no room for error, because it's very damaging to get your named thrown into the fray. It matters more in MLB, because you see the face, whereas in the NFL, the players wear helmets, and it's not as personal.
Just seems like MLB takes the longest to do everything. Indecisive. We love our players, we want to protect 'em, yet they do nothing to make the policies stricter, so CLEAN players don't have their names tarnished.
