  1. Oh c'mon, after yesterday's "disaster", why not put more emotion into that? Good. Edit: That's more like it! I'd shout it myself, but you know what's going on my neighborhood right now.
  2. Isn't Cano being given the day off? Escalona's filling in at 2B. May Chacon continue owning Toronto (one game, fine, but still).
  3. Ahh, ok, staying on task before enjoying the scenery, good for you.
  4. Word: hope that Chacon doesn't follow Mussina's lead last night. Sheffield and Rodriguez both going deep, in the same inning. A-Rod drives home his 101st RBI.
  5. Isn't it Yahweh for you, smokey? Lmao...riverside, I think you're the only one looking at Schilling's pic.
  6. Sidney. There's just no excuse for DUI/DWI. None. Scary thing is, the first time offender has done it on average 250 times before getting caught.
  7. Find the silver lining, you do that.
  8. Ya do know that Man U is roughly the equivalent of the Yankees in the Premier League? And now it's owned by a "Yankee".
  9. Got any title ideas? But I'd still think it'd be a waste of trees.
  10. Roddick can only hope that some nobody knocks out Federer in his draw. Mwahaha. I don't think they've faced off in the US Open...it'd be entertaining, see if the home crowd can get a rise out of Roddick (that would actually help his game).
  11. Ha, if it's a "natural" thing, then yes, it definitely qualifies. I'm not sure how you'd self-inflict a urinary tract infection, anyways. Unlike...ironing yourself.
  12. Meh, if the Yankees don't make the playoffs (hypothetically, *knocks on wood*), it might be detrimental to Rodriguez's credentials for MVP. Mmk, that's all I'm saying. And being the team player that he is (heh), he'd rather be hugging the WS trophy, anyways. Me? Dreamer? Why, 'course not!
  13. He sounds like a nice guy. They still love him in STL. A-Rod comes off, really weirdly in interviews, I'd "laugh" if I wasn't so puzzled by some of the things he says... Sizzlin: It's just a matter of "respect", so to speak, that Jeter didn't switch. Not that we'd ever know, but I can't imagine Jeter throwing a tantrum over it. Or I don't know, he seemed a bit miffed when Steinbrenner questioned his partying ways, until the commercial smoothed things over or whatever.
  14. What the... Hmm. Well, at least the arm gets a rest.
  15. Dick Vitale...seriously, dude! C'mon, I mean, ya know. Is he getting off the UCONN bandwagon? Stay tuned. GhostofMalzone: Well, there have been good collegiate athletes, such as Grant Hill, Shane Battier (it's pure coincidence that the two that comes to mind are Duke alums, really), Tim Duncan. College isn't a correctional facility either; for most people it's a place where independence is asserted, so if they can't hack it...oh well. Gosh knows those "athletes" have been pampered enough, with personal chemistry tutors and what not. And still, you're going to find nay-sayers who claim that sociology is a much easier major than what "real" Duke students take, so one can never appease all. Meh, defending the NCAA stops here.
  16. As far as the Yanks-Sox being tied at the end, which doesn't seem likely, but I know that in the NFL, to determine who gets into playoffs in the event of identical record (it would seem to have a higher chance of likelihood), there's at about eight determining steps...and the very last resort is a coin toss. Some include head-to-head, scheduling strength, scheduling strength of the opponents, etc., so I wonder if MLB has a similiar system, instead of scheduling an extra game, which seems to be a very odd option.
  17. Can we get this in English? And in MLB, Scott Bora$$ has a lot of leverage, whereas in the NFL, Drew Rosenhaus is seen as a goon. Granted you don't SEE Boras as much as Rosenhaus, but nonetheless, even Bernie knew his contract was far beyond what he should've gotten. Yeah, it's a business alright. I just don't know how much until the all the media revenue, ticket revenue, can off-set how much the Yankees are dishing out the dough for these guys. Cashman's reluctant to sign players for that much now, well mainly he's not giving up prospects, but one would think that they're reaching the breaking point. George is especially nice when the winning concept is working in his favor.
  18. Hey, if the Yankees got rid of the Rodriguez's monster contract, followed by Jeter's, and now that Williams' is coming to an end, not to mention Brown's... There goes the team.
  19. Wow, this is surprising? Because it's not. And while the Yankees payroll is ridiculous, I'll concede that, some owners don't want to spend at all. Teams like the A's, Twins, Cardinals, to name a few, they don't have astronomical payrolls yet they stay pretty competitive. KC's management has been in disarray for quite awhile now. If there was a cap, it might not mean that the poor teams would spend more wisely, or that the colassal spenders would either, but that the teams currently in the middle, they would stand a bigger chance. Thing is, the Yankee players would look poor compared to some of the European soccer clubs, but that's another story.
  20. Tough luck, Andy. Maybe another time... Federer beats Roddick, extends finals streak
  21. Johnson or Wright? Does it even matter? It feels like eternity and a half since we had good pitching. Ha, "I remember...", that's just one of the many laments Yankee fans have this year.
  22. I remember people picking him for the Cy Young. Actually, I remember some Yankee fans salivating at the thought of Jaret Wright having a 2005 Cy Young year...
  23. Location, location, location. And Posada didn't catch him. Gah I want the Flaherty streak back.
  24. Uhh, I think Brown's probably done that. Well, he keeps 'em in the park alright, but it SEEMS like the inning drags on and on. We could've kept Javy. He could've served 'em up. For a fraction of the price we paid for RJ.
