1. Food for thought.........Let's say the rumors pan out and we end up losing Wells, Damon, Manny, Graff, Mueller, Miller and God knows who else......where would the sox go from there? Would it be time for management to say, all right, lets clean house and build for the future....thus giving the up and comers from the sox minor league systems their chance to shine while filling the vacancies and gaining much needed big league experience playing with the big boys. I know this would be against the "must win now" attitude most fans have, but could the Red Sox Nation tolerate an off season if it meant fine tuning the team with younger talent and building to the future?:dunno:
2. You're pros........being paid big bucks and expected to produce. Starting tonight, the BoSox need to show that they are the World Champions and not one time wonders. Your fans support you and deserve your best effort. Lets put to rest who's the best in the east and put the Yankees in their place.......second place and runner up in the wild card race! Go BoSox!
3. Glad to see both added to the roster.....and if we happen to have a runaway game, why not put all the young guys in to gain some experience. I'm hoping Hansen lives up to all the hype.....Go BoSox!
4. All Red Sox fans....young and old......are welcomed! Look forward to your posts and comments on other inputs. Have to agree with you.......Tito makes some questionable decisions and I like you....suffer through those misques. Again welcome for a Sox Nation fan in OK.
5. Sorry guys, I just can't get high on Renteria.......there's just something about his style of play that you never know if he will make the play or not........watch the difference between him and Cora when they field a ground ball........Cora is smooth while there's no sign of soft hands with Renteria. Hopefully this is just an off year for him and I'll hold final judgement until next year. He sometimes reminds me of Manny.....loses concentration about where and what he's doing. Oh well.....just hope the errors don't jump up and bite us in the next couple of weeks. Go BoSox.......
6. Sizzlin22..............I have to agree with some of the responses to your post citing concern about bashing our Sox. Give me a break.....when has expression of someone's concern been categorized as bashing? If you're a true Red Sox fan........there's plenty of reason to be "concerned" about how they are currently playing. October isn't that far off and with the Yankees turning on the pressure, I'm concerned as hell. I believe these sites are designed for folks to express their views. If you don't like what you see, don't reply and if my bolding my comments annoyes you.......all I can say is get over it......I don't tell you how to write your posts......don't tell me how to do mine! If you don't like it.......don't read them.
7. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to know that if you want to play with the big boys during a pennant race, you have to put your best team on the field every night. Trying to keep everyone happy on the bench at this stage in the season seems a bit out of place. The Yankees have to love Tito's decisions lately that have allowed them to get back into the race. Come on BoSox..........it's all there for the taking.........and it's time to show the Red Sox Nation what you're made of...........PLEASE!
8. I for one would hate to see him move on.......Mueller........has been a real plus both with his hitting and fielding skills........and I'm not sure that Youk will be that much of an improvement over Mueller.....yes, Youk is younger, but Mueller is proven......Youk is still a work in progress!
9. Welcome Yankee fan............would like to ask a simple question......as a Yankee fan, don't you find it just a bit odd that Giambi has gained noticeably in size and strength since the start of the season........I would like to think that he has just done it on his own, but to make such a sudden change over a few months......sure puts questions in the minds of true baseball fans. Again, welcome and look forward to your inputs.
10. Stop for a minute and go back to last year........do you remember the look in Giambi's eyes....looked like a deer in the headlights........well, compare his look at start of the this season and now..........he has regained that wild man look..........sure makes me wonder what's up?
11. I would swear that I read somewhere that Burnett was pretty high on the possibility of signing with the Red Sox. Am I wrong?
12. OK, it's the second full week of September and wouldn't you think that now is the time for the Red Sox to get serious. Giving key players days off should only be in the case of an injury. To put other than your best players on the field at this point in the season is unexcusable. Management doesn't shell out those big bucks to have their best players sit on the bench during a tight division race. Are you listening Tito?
13. I'm glad I'm not the only one that has seen a change in his look.......when season started, he looked calm and collective, but have to admit that over the past couple of months, he has taken on that "wild eyed" look of seasons past. Something has changed and I'm not sure working extra hard in the batting cage is the reason. Time will tell I guess, but it sure makes one wonder!
14. Theo has made some good decisions in acquiring so-so players that have contributed, but this move was a disaster and the sooner they move him out, the better. How many times do we have to see him self destruct before management see the light?
15. Greetings from a life-long BoSox fan living in Oklahoma.........my wife was a big time Yankee fan when we married....but overtime I've brainwashed her by watching Sox games every night.........now she says "screw the yankees!" Have to love those Red Sox!
