  1. I'd loved them both when they were here, but I'll definatly be rooting for Pedro in this one.
  2. Exactly why Bronson has no chance to win it. The Reds are cooling off and he'll get less and less wins as the season progresses. The Cards could be without Pujols for the rest of the year and they're still head and shoulders better than the Reds. The Cards suck? They have the 2nd most wins in baseball. If Bronson finishes the season with an ERA under 3 I'll have the Yankee logo tattooed on my ass.
  3. God I hate the Pirates. We have absolutely no bats in the bigs, or in our farm system, and McClatchy goes out and drafts a handfull of pitchers. NEWSFLASH: The Pirates have 7 guys who can start in the majors and they're all under 26 ... the last thing we need is more pitching. I don't know why I expected anything great out of this draft for the Pirates. In 20 years the 2 best players we've drafted in the first round are Kendall and Benson ... the majority of the rest never even saw the bigs ... some never even saw AAA.
  4. is the first 90% of the season any less important than the last 90%?
  5. I'm sorry why would the Sonics ever even considering drafting JJ? They already have 2 guys who love to/can shoot the 3. Getting JJ wouldn't help them at all. I love JJ, but if you have Ray Allen you have no need for JJ Redick.
  6. I'd be more concerned with his elbow. I can't say I understand why his delivery wasn't changed in the minors.
  7. Why is it that people try to slight Shaq? If it wasn't for MJ, Shaq would have been the most dominating force in the NBA in the last 2 decades ... even taking MJ into consideration some may still consider Shaq the "most-dominating" player of the last 2 decades. Eventhough he's the 2nd best player of our generation people still want to pretend that he isn't the most important player on his team. It's not about Shaq having Kobe, or Penny, or Dwade. It's about Kobe, or Penny, or Dwade having Shaq. Shaq has played with 3 young guards and he's made every single one of them better. Yes you could say that all three of them had great potential to begin with, but it's clear Shaq is doing something right. He's helped, in one way or another, Penny, Kobe, and Dwade become superstars. I know Penny fell off after losing Shaq, but that's still an impressive resume. Shaq has now been on 3 teams in his career and he's taken everyone of them to the championship. I dont care if the guy's 50 ... just like Dwade said the other day ... if I'm starting a team ... I'm taking Shaq first.
  8. I think the fact that Shaq went to the finals in his third season in the NBA, while Kobe was still popping pimples in HS, proved that.
  9. Anyone who thinks Arroyo, or the Reds, are going to keep this up for the rest of the season is a jackass. Like I said before I'd be suprised if the Reds finish 3rd in their division, and I'd be completely shocked if Bronson is even in the same state as the conversation about the Cy Young award.
  10. wow I forgot the Yanks even had him. I'm welcoming his come back. I don't believe he'll be able to be productive at all this year.
  11. No it's definatly not acceptable. Young players shouldn't so any emotion, and should definatly not interract with the fans. That's horrible behavior ................................. Seriously, what's wrong with showing emotion? If he's doing it to show up the pitcher, or the other team then yes it's wrong, but he was just celebrating his first HR. Give the guy a break. He did nothing wrong.
  12. A 35 year old with 3 good months under his belt has high trade value? I think not.
  13. Exactly, and if you're not on satellite radio there is no such thing as free speech in this country anymore.
  14. Cincy is going to finish 4th in the division, maybe 5th if the Cubs can ever get it together. Living in an NL city, with a team in the same division, I've seen a lot of the Reds games, and nothing about them says playoff team.
  15. Well this is old, but I don't have any problems with his comments. First of all she was breaking rules being in the dugout in uniform. After this happened he read the rules for who is allowed to be in the dugout in uniform, and she was not. People in this country really need to grow up, and I'm not talking about Keith.
  16. Do you really want an entire wing dedicated to SoxFan#1?
  17. I guess I have to go with the Pirates. I can't say I really cheer for them anymore because it's pointless, but I guess they're my 2nd favorite. I like players on a lot of different teams, but don't like their teams.
  18. I believe I was one of the first people to get one of these shirts way back when. I won it in one contest or another.
  19. There are absolutely clutch hits. The body produces adrenaline in clutch/tight situations, and it depends how the player deals with that adrenaline. Some players use it to their advantage and get that clutch hit ... like Ortiz. Some players are brought to their knees by the adrenaline, and fail miserably in those situations ... like ARod.
  20. That won't happen, and I'd be highly upset if it did. No matter how well Arroyo does in the NL I'll never regret that trade.
  21. I can't say I really gave that a lot of thought. There really aren't a lot of pitchers that we could realistically get right now, and I think he's one of the few we could.
  22. We're 3-7 against the Jays. We're in first place. We swing a few of those games in our favor and suddenly the Jays are tied with the Os.
  23. I'd like to get Livan Hernandez. The Nats are going to clean house this year, and I think we can get him on the cheap. He's got playoff experience, and he's not too old at 31.
  24. Seanez was busy trying to figure out how to give up a 9 run HR.
