  1. Well why don't you call him and tell him. You normally talk as though you have an inside connection with the Sox, so why don't you use it instead of bitching here.
  2. What I saw on ESPN was that Mussina was asked if ARod's errors effected the outcome of the game, and his response was "Yes." I didn't see anything more than that.
  3. PLEASE GEORGE ... DON'T MAKE THIS DEAL!
  4. Oh how the mighty have fallen.
  5. I don't think we'll see him until next year, but I guess theres a chance he could end up getting a cup of coffee this year.
  6. I'm almost 100% sure theres already a thread for him.
  7. Yeaaaaaaaah ... he's not. His ERA is 0.11 points higher than Beckett's. He has a 3-1 K-BB ratio just like Beckett does. I really don't have time to sit here and go over all his numbers, but trust me you're wrong. To say a 20 year old with his numbers is overrated clearly shows that you know nothing about baseball.
  8. ARod going to the Yankees was hands down the best thing that ever happened to the Red Sox.
  9. Now come on lets not be silly. Of course he isn't the GM ... he just has a direct line to Theo's office.
  10. Really? I think there are plenty of pitchers that bad. Have you ever seen the Pirates play?
  11. What if .... I actually knew what this show was?
  12. Agreed. I like Tony better, but Mark and hit bat made of swiss cheese did more for the team.
  13. Well thank God you have that direct line to Theo so we know exactly whats going to happen.
  14. Don't get me wrong ... I want WMP to get playing time ... I just dont understand how someone can say a player has a pathetic bat when he his BA is over .300 and his OBP is over .400.
  15. I had trouble understanding this trade till talking it over with my Indian fan friend. The move seems to have been made so they can see if Fausto Carmona is going to be a capable closer, or if they will have to get someone before the start of next season.
  16. AVG .302 | HR 6 | RBI 44 | OBP .405 | SLG .435 Wow look at that pathetic bat ... I dont even think he'd start for the Pirates
  17. I think had we actually won something last year he would have got a nice ovation, but at this point he's just another short time Red Sox player. If we tried to give them all standing O's when would we actually sit at games?
  18. I wouldn't assume a trade was in the works, but I'd definatly say it's a possibility. I'm guessing if there was nothing in the works Theo would make the call up ASAP so the pitcher can be comfortable with the fact that he'll be making a start. I'm not totally sure that a trade is coming, but I think Theo is working on a few things and possibly trying to get a trade done before Wake's spot comes up again.
  19. I dont think we would have been there in the first place without the spark he brought when he got here.
  20. I really doubt they're gonna part with Bard as he is standing on his head right now. AVG .366 | HR 6 | RBI 25 | OBP .428 | SLG .592
  21. SLG% is hardly an accurate way to judge power. Freddy Sanchez has a .529 SLG% and he admittedly has little power.
  22. A big move doesn't mean it has to be a big name. Doesn't anyone think that filling the hole in our rotation would be a big move? Also remember that the pitcher we need is not a #1 or #2 ... we have those spots filled. If you can get a #3 calibur guy I think thats a big move, but even getting a #4 guy who can at least give us a chance win would be big enough for me.
  23. I will never pretend that Radke is a dominating starter, but to say he's a JJ clone is silly, and whoever told you that is a complete moron. For the last 3 years he's basically a 6-1 K-BB guy. Although his ERA isn't that of a cy young winner, he's reliable, and aside from his rookie year he has never finished a season with an ERA 5 or above. Like I said he wont be a lights out guy, but he also wont be a clone of that bum JJ. I'd feel much more comfortable with him in this rotation than Clement or Wells. If I'm not mistaken we've attempted to get him a number of times in the past.
  24. It may be a hard pitch to master but it doesn't mean it's any harder to hit than any other pitch. Any hitter that has ever seen a cutter from a lefty will be seeing roughly the same pitch. Not to mention that it's completely obvious when it's coming becuase of the arm motion. Good hitters will light that pitch up ... theres no deception at all.
  25. Like ONS said it's just a screwball. I don't really understand the excitement about this pitch ... if I started calling my curveball the CYCLONEBALL would I get signed?
