  1. Did you happen to be a Red Sox fan when Johnny left? Did you hear his comments? That's why he has a lack of loyalty. He openly lied to every single person in RSN. On top of that he lied about the offers he recieved in hopes to screw the Sox out of more money. That being said I think I've made it clear I'm against trading Trot.
  2. Yes thats what Youk does but he wouldn't be replacing Youk. He'd be replacing Manny in SoxFan02's predictions. He also had Abreu hitting 4th. You definatly wouldn't hit Abreu 4th in this lineup. As for your idea. I just don't understand moving Trot and bringing in Abreu. Why move an above average OFer who is making 7.5 Mill for an above average OF who is making 13.6 Mill? I know I've said before that the last thing the Sox should have to worry about is money, but spending 6.1 Mill to bring in a player who may only be maginally better than the player you currently have is just silly.
  3. What was it about Weavers 6.29 ERA that makes you want him to be a part of the rotation? He is a whole like 1 ER better than Lenny Dinardo for about 8 million more dollars. If you're interesting in making runs at pitchers with an ERA in the 6's then we might as well just sign people off the street ... at least we'd save some money.
  4. or how about we just blame the Red Sox. I'm not sure if you guys ever found out or not, but ... *psssst* baseball is a team sport.
  5. Seriously come on man. What hasn't Beltre done to earn his contract? I mean the guys hitting an amazing .256 with a whole 7 HRs. What else could you ask from a guy making almost 13 mill?
  6. I'm not sure whats most insane about your plans. The fact that you want to trade Manny when he's having an MVP year, or the fact that you'd hit Abreu behind Papi. Do you honestly think theres a single team in this league that would even throw Papi a strike if Abreu was hitting behind him? I'd walk Papi with the bases loaded to face Abreu. I understand at some point we're going to have to replace Manny, but jesus christ why do it with an overpaid 32 year old who has put together maybe 1 full season in his entire career? I am completely against any trade that brings Abreu to Boston. I don't even want him for a bag of chips. I would sooner call up Adam Stern than trade for Bobby "where'd my power go" Abreu.
  7. heh the Reds may actually be more mismanaged than the Pirates. How do you make an 8 player trade when you're having your best season of the decade? Especially one where you give up 2 good players for an old man and 3 nobodies.
  8. Welcome ... unless you're a bengals fan.
  9. Gee that makes me think. Where are all those Yankee fans that said Chacon wasn't a fluke last year? Would any of you like to step up and eat your words? Yeah thought not.
  10. Yeah I'm not real sure why we would have interest in Klesko. He had a few good years, but he hasn't even taken an AB this season. I don't see how he would improve this team in any way.
  11. You actually considered Chan Ho Park? I'd rather sign someone off the street than trade for him.
  12. always try and look at the brightside. At least he's not Seanez.
  13. That wasn't the question. I said a mediocre QB came in and won a game with Brady's team. Does that mean the same applies to Brady as does to Ben? BTW insulting the Steelers doesn't bother me. We have more SBs than your team, and a more recent SB, so go f*** yourself.
  14. I love how you guys say we could throw any average QB in there an win ... yet any game not started by Ben Roethlisberger since his first start has resulted in a Steeler loss. Did you happen to see the games last year that Ben missed? I'd say Tommy Maddox and Batch are average if not above average QBs, and neither of them won a game with the same team. Ben is a leader, and he leads the Steelers no matter his age. When we do not have his leadership on the field we are not as good of a team. Also if you're going to make those claims then lets take a bunch of Pedro's wins away ... cause anyone could win with the offense we had. What about the fact that you guys won a playoff game under Drew Bledsoe after Brady took over ... does that mean that any average QB could win with the Pats too?
  15. So based on your statements I should believe that you have never forgotten anything in your life? ... Yeah I thought so. Oh yeah good thing you guys didn't draft the youngest QB to ever win a SB. Good thing you didn't get the kid who got to 20 wins faster than any QB ever. Good thing you didn't get the only QB to beat undefeated teams 2 weeks in a row. I mean why would you want a rookie QB who took him team to the AFC Championship in his first year? Remember what happened in Eli's first year? I'm not sure that I remember all the details, but I do remember him joining a team that was in the playoff hunt, and turning them into a complete joke. Seriously though, who wouldn't rather have a guy who got drafted in the first round because of his last name? Why wouldn't you want the 3rd member of a football family that never wins instead of a SB winning QB? I'm not sure why you'd want a guy with a complete game, when you could get a kid who isn't ready for the NFL, and clearly(especially against the Panthers in the playoffs) is scared to take a hit. I'd rather have Tim Couch than Eli ... At least Couch doesn't run away and fall on the ground when defenders got past his offensive line. The guy made a mistake. It's over. No need to worry though. You'll get to talk about him again later in the year when he's taking his team further than Eli is taking the GMen ........ again.
  16. I'm going with Papi. It'll be interesting to see how many balls actually get to the water on the fly. It's a long way.
  17. I originally picked Harris as well. The reason, was that I'm really not disapointed in any of our position players. Eventually I ended up going with Tek, but I think that's where he's coming from.
  18. Red Sox Mid-Season Awards MVP-- Papelbon Comeback Pitcher-- Curt Schilling Comeback Position Player-- Mike Lowell Cy Young-- Papelbon Best Glove -- Youk Best Catch-- Coco's Biggest Disappointment of a Pitcher -- Clement ... expected him to start falling apart in the 2nd half Biggest Disappointment of a Position Player -- As much as I dont want to say it ... Tek.
  19. Heres the problem with your plan. The teams willing to trade for Lidge are going to be playoff teams as well. Those teams are looking to add pieces not subtract them. The teams out of the race that are looking to trade us pieces we need, will not want to take on Lidge and his contract/future contract. If we got Lidge it would be at least for the rest of the season.
  20. I'd throw both of them out there before Seanez.
  21. I like everything about that besides the font you used for Papelbon.
  22. The reason he has struggled is because he no longer has his stuff. He is a fastball pitcher, and he no longer has his fastball. I'd say he is one of the clear victims of the steroid era ending. His 97-99MPH Fastball is now a 89-92MPH Fastball. The only thing that will be able to fix Oliver Perez is an undetectable steroid. There is nothing good about Perez, and I'd rather start Clement 5 straight games than trade for Perez.
  23. Where are you getting this information? I seriously doubt a team would trade for a pitcher with a torn rotator cuff.
  24. Schilling has better numbers than his starter, and he doesn't even pick him at all.
