  1. I just got mine today, Thanks SFOC ... yeszir, and anyone else involved. It is a blue shirt. The front has a speech bubble with the Sox logo in the middle, and on the back ... http://img124.imageshack.us/img124/309/talksox7um.jpg Really nice shirt.
  2. I love Cabrera, and I'd love to add the next Manny to our team, but I think this defense is going to be what could win us the World Series this year. Down the road I would definatly love to have Cabrera, but right now I'm against moving any starting fielder.
  3. I'm from Pittsburgh and I still call them Anaheim. I refuse to accept a silly name change ... they still play in the same damn place.
  4. Hey man I hope you're right. Trust me I'd love to see Wells come back and allow us to run away with this division the way we would have if we didn't have to forefit every 5th game.
  5. I wouldn't move anyone playing in the field for us right now.
  6. I'm finally home to see a game live and it has to rain ... mother f***ers.
  7. You're getting me wrong. There will always be a special place in my heart for Foulke, and I'll never forget what he did for us that season, but it's this season now. Plus his actions since that WS haven't exactly given me a warm fuzzy feeling.
  8. How do you know that no one cares? Questioning a coaching decisions makes you a cancer IMO, and thats what he did back in ST. I don't care how minor it was. A team has to be united under their coach, and accept his decisions as the right moves. Also if he's willing to say that his manager is wrong to the media, what do you think he's saying around the clubhouse? Don't you think a manager having to hear about how one of his players thought he was wrong, bothers him? On top of that, having to hear moronic quotes about your team from a veteran can't make you feel good ... as a player or coach. In closing, I won't be rooting against Wells on the field. I'll just be rooting for him to keep his mouth shut off it.
  9. he earned every dollar of his 2004 contract, but he hasn't earned a damn thing since. When you're making upwards of 7 million and you hurt your team more than you help it ... that's not exactly earning your money.
  10. I think he was comparing us to other teams around baseball. Of course there are teams better than the Red Sox at Scouting/Developing young players ... The Marlins and Braves come to mind ... but we're definatly one of the top teams. You wanna talk about shooting craps ... let's talk about the Pirates. They produced 3 MLB quality players in a decade and a half ... even worse than shooting craps.
  11. At this point I'd almost rather keep Gabbard in the rotation and JVB in the bullpen than bring back those two cancers. When they come back, Wells need to keep his mouth shut, at least, till he has a few good outings, and Foulke needs to earn a few dollars of that huge f***ing contract he has, or retire.
  12. hahahhaha She couldn't possibly have said that. She's not hot enough to be that dumb.
  13. They show the names of the highlights to the right of the video. If you ever plan to watch games after they happen this may ruin it for you. I remember coming home excited to watch the Red Sox game only to see "Ortiz's Walk-Off HR" right next to the game starting. Also they run their version of the bottom line under it, so it can also be ruined that way. Other than that it's a great service.
  14. I think they're planning on making him into glue ... like a horse.
  15. I'd be more concerned with a 36 year old's arm wearing out before a 26 year old's.
  16. I'm not in the mood to argue about the best closer ever so for now I'll just agree with your statement. Best closer ever doesn't mean jack s*** when Rivera takes the mound this season ... best closer in the game does. I dont care about last season, or next season ... I care about this season, and we have THE BEST closer this season, and Rivera is not on the same level ... just look at the numbers. Rivera is still a great closer but he is not as dominating as Paps is. So I guess we agree ... I'll take Paps every day.
  17. Yes but that is the only place Rivera is better than Paps, and to be fair Paps has had 7 more chances, and has 6 more saves. Paps wins ERA 0.54 to 2.06. Rivera has allowed almost twice as many hits (42 to 27) eventhough he has only pitched 2.1 more innings (52.1 to 50). Rivera has allowed 4 times as many earned runs than Paps (12 to 3). Paps K/BB is better than 5 (50/9) while Rivera's is just a shade over 4 (38/9). Paps sports a .72 WHIP and Rivera's is .97. It appears that you chose the only stat that favors Rivera ... and it only does so because Rivera has appeared less.
  18. I wouldn't trade Manny for 5 ARods.
  19. Well, perhaps if Jeter was a real captain he would stand up for his teammate with the media and tell the writers and the fans to get off Arod's back and let him play ball, but thank god Jeter isn't really a captain, huh?
  20. I believe you made a typo ... Papelbon > Rivera. Go ahead and argue if you'd like Yankee fans, but I'll show you the numbers. They decide who the best pitcher is ... not a pitchers history.
  21. 26 to 6 would you like to tell us how the Yankees have a better defense as well?
  22. Zito has no grip on reality so trading for him would mean we'd just be renting him for half a season. When you're 28 with with 96 wins and you actually think you're going to get to 300 .. I doubt you're going to be very realistic in contract talks ... add to that Scott Boras. Oh yeah ... and the fact that Zito would get eaten alive in fenway.
  23. Come on seriously why would Yankee fans cheer Arod? Because he's one of the best players in the game ... pffffffffffffffffffffffft. Why appreciate one of the best players you'll ever see ... when you can boo him ... and cheer the guy playing next to him who isn't half as good.
  24. That statement proves you know absolutely nothing about baseball. You guys have 1 young pitcher that doesn't blow ... how exactly is it that you're staff is better off? You do understand that Mike Mussina is going to continue to age right? And that will leave your team without a consistant pitcher. Or wait ...is it because you guys have 1 pitching prospect in the minors ... OH NO!!! PHILLIP HUGHES ... I'M SO SCARED!!!! The Yankees have 1 consistant pitcher, and nothing behind him besides an average Wang who will never be able to beat the Red Sox consistantly. Come back to earth dude.
  25. We're jealous of the fact that you have the highest paid player in baseball on your team, and he's playing awful? Or are we jealous of the fact that 90% of our fanbase doesn't hate our best player like yours does with your best?
