  1. i appologize, ive been somewhat out of it, i should have known that he pitched last night. But you cant argue Wangs success.
  2. the Japanese national champion team? Are you talking about the Japanese national team (that would compete in the olympics/WBC/Other International competition) or the Japan Series Winner (japan's pro league's version of the world series. Actually known as The Nippon Series). Japans pro legue is called NPB (Nippon Professional Baseball), the league where the Giants, Hanshin Tigers, Chiba Lotte Marines, Softbanck Hawks, etc play. Is that who you mean or doe you want the World Series winner vs their National team?
  3. like YS013 said, end of August/Early Sept. Possibly as a power arm in the pen.
  4. No arguement in the catcher department. Thats something we have to take care of. Edge: Red Sox well lets see.....West will be better than Larson, but Duncans gonna be switching to 1B within the next 2 years (we kinda got sum1 at 3rd right now). Edge: Red Sox (but lets not forget Duncan is moving to first) Please, Cano is doing a great job in the Majors, lets let Pedoria play a ML game before we make him out to be Joe Morgan or Ryne Sandberg. Edge: Yankees (for now) Henry was just drafted, nobody knows for sure wether or not Hanleys gonna be that good, though he prolly will be. But you can have the better MiLB SS, we have Jeter. Edge:Red Sox Shut Up, Duncan is going to be far better than Youk. Hes not a bad fielder, so whoever told you that is wrong, though he has struggled a little, hes a pretty good fielder. And he can hit, in the prime of his career he will hit way more than your projected 20 homers. if Youk was so good he'd be a fulltime player, not a roster replacement when someone gets hurt. Edge: Yankees Melky batted 9 because we have other guys in the MLB lineup who deserve to be batting where they are. Melky is a 4 hitter in the minors. And he can play the OF, just because he messed up in Fenway doesnt mean he's bad, thats a tough CF to play. And give him more time to adjust to Yankee Stadium dementions. Edge: Yankees Again, SHUT UP. Wang has been very successful this year and was our #3, and his ceiling isnt just a #4 or 5. Lets have your guy throw a game for Boston first before we say hes better than Wang. Edge: Yankees Hughes is just playing A ball right now, so this isnt a fair comparison. Edge: Even Hansen vs Cox: Lets get them some Minor League time first. Hansen will probably be better, but Cox was outstanding this year in the CWS. He will be Mariano's replacement. Edge: Even Sanchez vs Henn: Sanches is better so far, but Henn can improve, he has had a decent MiLB season. Edge: Red Sox Delcarmen vs ??: I dont know who to put up against him. I would throw DePaula in there, but after his Tommy John last year he hasnt been great in the minors this year. He had a dominant ML debut in 2003 (7 1/3 PERFECT innings against the Orioles, or at least i believe it was the Orioles). He made the rotation out of camp last year. He was pretty good and when he is completely recovered from his surgery he could improve Edge: Red Sox So according to my UNBIASED projections, you guys beat us out 5-4 in the comparison of the players listed. But our lower level prospects are far better than yours, ask any analst. We have great Single and Double A prospects. (our rookie league team, as well as our High A team won their league's championships last year.)
  5. ESPN radio is different than ESPN TV...the hosts express their opinion on the radio, they just report unless theyre on PTI or ATH. And its just talk, just because shes talking about the possibilities doesnt mean he did it, for all we know he could have passed his test already.
  6. Womack hasnt hit because he was never a great hitter, he was a good leadoff man, and so far this year off the bench he has been a good hitter...lets not forget the 2 walkoff hits he provided for us, including yesterdays.
  7. maybe thats this year without Navarro, but thats what the book said. And BTW...i doubt the Yankees made this up, this came from the official rankings, just get over it and stop crying about it. Yo Crespo, get over your feelings about a guy who was up and down between Boston and Pawtucket last year and is now in Nashville with the Pirates, get a new name...Idiot
  8. they asked for Duncan...we turned them down. We offered Shelly Duncan and a few other guys (dont know for sure who). It wouldnt have been a bad deal at all, and besides, he wanted to come here in the offseason.
  9. how can you say that..Stottylmeyer has been a great pitching coach since '96...dont throw all the blame for the last 2 years on Mel, blame the pitchers. How come guys like Clemens, Pettitte, Wells, Cone, etc all rave about Mel. Its the guys who do poorly that complain.
  10. what hes done for you in the PAST, prior to this season (shoulda been a little clearer), because he was pretty reliable last year.
  11. you never know if hes still doing it, i think MLB should not only release the names of the players who tested positive, but also those who didnt so that we could clear their name, like for all we know Giambi was tested and was clean, but we dont know so we're all pointing our finger at him as well. The way i see it, lets keep Giambi's (as well as anyone else who hasnt tested positive so far) name out of it until they are found to be steroid positive.
  12. i was just browsing through the Yankees media guide yesterday and noticed that the Yankees were ranked 10th IN FRONT of the Red Sox who were either 14th or 16th...i just thought i would inform you guys considering you guys are always talking about how bad our farm system is.
  13. this is ridiculous, Raffy earned my respect from his testimony at the hearing, and the second i heard this on WFAN he lost all of my respect. If hes doin it anyone could be (including Giambi)
  14. ive been predicting it since he was DFA...and let me tell you. sitting in that stadium yesterday when he came in i thought it would be the perfect opprotunity for him to stick it to the Sox. After he threw the ball away someone sitting near me yelled "you're still pitching for Boston you bum" and i had no choice but to chuckle..its kinda like when people would always say that Ramiro Mendoza was still on George's payroll when he went to Boston. but anyways, he keeps pitching like he did yesterday then i wouldnt be surprised to see him DFA again. But hopefully he picks it up and does for us what hes done for you guys in the past
  15. I doubt anything will happen as it has appearantly fallen through, but it would have been nice to see Manny in Queens.
  16. yea but he'll get more love and respect in his hometown...and he'll be reunited with Pedro. So that kinda makes it worthwhile
  17. any chance of Damon moving to left and having Cam play Center?? I remember Damon played left in KC and Oakland, so its just a suggestion. Or maybe move him to right, with all the room in the fenway RF, the right fielder needs a CFers range. This is a HUGE deal for the Mets if it happens. Not too bad I dont think for the Sox, not as bad as you guys are making it out to be, you get 2 good bats (Cam has been pretty good on offense this year for the Mets) and a gold glove outfielder to replace Manny. Then when Trot returns, you get a lethal bat off the bench. Agreed I dont think it would be in the Sox' best interest to give up 2 prospects, depending on who they are. Ken Rosenthal of the Sporting News seems to think that a trade will happen between the Sox and Mets involving Manny either before the deadline or in the winter. Also, while yes, Cam was very disgruntled about playing right (something he offered to do in the offseason if the Mets aquired Beltran), he has sort of warmed up to it, while do doubt he still prefers CF, hes not making as big a deal of the whole situation anymore.
  18. taking the Angels series was a pretty premature prediction...to make you right we would have to win tomorrow and sunday....and I hope we win tomorrow, my sisters making me take her to the game and the only thing worse than going to a game with my sister is goin to a game with my sister and losing.
  19. are you forgetting the NL West? ...id have to say theyre far worse than the east
  20. wow, it seems like the days of having the Number 1 ranked farm system (back in the late 90's) is a millenium ago.
  21. it happened in 1946, he said the quote later...i just found it as a perfect example of the why the Red Sox were losers for so long. How can you not be alert in game 7 of the world series in the 9th inning??
  22. c'mon man, wut kinda New Yorker are you?
  23. A Little off-subject, but this one looks pretty good too!
  24. of coarse I want to keep our division title streak going, but im just saying that second place is suffiecent
  25. heres what yankees.com/mlb.com have.....i always wondered how this was done, because i know he didnt pose for that pic yet, thats the same exact pic he had with the Rockies just with a yankee hat and jersey...but how do they change the teams jerseys and hat...like the NY is perfectly lined up with how he wears it, its pretty cool. Lol anyways, Heres Shawn Chacon
