According to EEI, there is no trade to announce, but Manny is not in the lineup. He doesn't need a day off, and he doesn't have the flu.... you put together what you want to happen. -

Supposedly I have now heard NESN and WEEI say this. He was originally in and now is not. Bold move if true, good job Francona. Okay and now MLB.com says this, so I think it's true. Some AL scores from today: White Sox 9 v. Baltimore 6 -- Final yankees 8 v. Angels 7 -- Final Texas 3 v. Toronto 2 -- 8th inning Oakland 9 v. Detroit 5 -- Final, Jay Payton also had a GS -

What is it with new members coming on and immidiately ripping people who have been around here for a while about their comments? Hey buddy, tek has 768 posts and you can tell he (correct me if I'm wrong on that one, tek -- sorry) really loves the Red Sox. You have made 6 posts on here and you're already coming in the wrong way? C'mon, show some respect.

I'm not in love with Carolina, I just dislike Duke. As far as the Carolina roster goes, they are a very young team. They only have three starting seniors in their lineup and one junior. That leaves four freshman and one sophomore. That's clearly a young team. Obviously, Duke will be tough to once again be beaten this year, but it can be done ESPECIALLY when the Dukies come to Chapel Hill.

No one WANTS him gone, but if you can get equal value you do it. But you don't go out and trade this guy for freakin' Aubrey Huff and Mike Cameron, that's a joke. Plus you have to give up Shoppach and Anibal Sanchez.

According to a caller on WEEI that for sure has fantastic sources says the deal is far from dead and is very well alive. The media maybe reporting this wrong... this isn't over until 4 PM tomorrow.

Geez, this is getting old fast. Every network I turn it on, this is being discussed. I turn on the Rangers game in Toronto and they are discussing Manny, I turn it on the Yankee game and they discuss Manny, I turn it on SportsCenter and they are talking about Manny.... it's pathetic, this deal won't happen.

This is one of the stupidest trades I've seen the Rangers make. You already put up 6 RUNS a game and you probably end up giving 7, so why are you not adding pitching? Texas might as well go ahead and throw in the towel.

The point is that A.) Manny Ramirez originally asked for the day off against the White Sox & B.) The Devil Rays can beat anyone on a given day, really.... look at the Yankees and look at us the last time we were down there. Stern isn't so bad that Francona can't put him in and it's nice to see him play some, but he is surely no Manny on the field. P.S. Your boy, Manny is selfish.

I agree with Wells' comment 100% whole heartedly. So pretty much, if Manny is not a team player get him off the team.

Nope. Don't really know how to explain it, but every weekday WEEI (sports radio station in Boston) has something called the "Whiner Line" and I have a CD of some of the best of those from last year and that was one of them under the musical category. It's a pretty funny CD.

Yankee fans constantly argue to us that they are a better team and here they are picking up players that WEREN'T GOOD ENOUGH to stay on the Red Sox. Good luck with Embree, Yanks.
