MC Hammer, but you have to understand that sometimes you have to give up something for your team. Francona said that in that last 10 inning game against Tampa Bay, Arroyo and Wakefield were getting their spikes and were about to go warm up in the bullpen in case the game had gone on any longer. And while Manny can't play because he doesn't want to, even when the team needs him, everyone else on the team isn't thinking of themselves like this guy is. Schilling pitches on one ankle three times in the postseason, Varitek steps up for other teammates getting in fights with players, even KEVIN MILLAR risks his reputation by standing up for other guys. Do you know how much an OF like Brandon Moss would kill to play one inning in the Bigs, and this guy YEARLY refuses to go out there and PLAY THE FREAKIN' GAME OF BASEBALL in front of the greatest fans in the world. It's stupid and it's selfish. Manny makes $122,000 a game whether he plays or not and to him it's still all about himself. He's like a baby and Francona is babysitting him granting him his every wish.

I'm starting to think twice a little bit about this trade. Maybe it's because all the trades that have been brought up aren't equal value for the Red Sox, but I'm not so sure now. Manny goes through these little episodes every year and I'm sure this will pass soon. Manny may not hussle sometimes down the line and he may sit there for an hour adimiring a base hit, but his numbers show what he can do.... and we clearly can't replace the guy.

Even though I was here at that time, I was not posting a whole lot. But reading that thread puts a smile on my face and brings back tons of memories from the series when I have read it. When Keith Foulke caught that ball and tossed it to Doug Mientkiewicz that was easily the greatest moment of my life.... so much emotion, and so much meaning for Red Sox fans across the nation. What a fantastic day.

This just in: Sox, D-Rays & Mets agree to limit this trade 'til 12 noon tomorrow (Saturday). Meaning that if this deal isn't done by then, it won't be done at all.

You are judging a guy not even one full year through his first season. ttt this thread in three years or so.... it's stupid to already judge the guy RIGHT NOW.

Since this is about trade talk, I thought I'd bring up that tonight Baseball Tonight, today is a special trade talk edition for whatever it's worth. ESPN isn't worth crap, but if you want to know what's going on around baseball I'm sure this would be good to tune into. Plus, I'm sure Gammons will be there.

You can really go beyond the farm system as well and tell that we have a bright future. I mean, look at the way Jeremi Gonzalez is pitching and the improvements that Kevin Youkilis can make to our club. I'm also really excited to see what some of these prospects can do. In Tampa was the first time I've seen Delcarmen pitch besides looking at his numbers & I have to say that I was really impressed.

Well.... Clement wants to make the start, but I honestly think that Francona will give him it off. Thanks for your concern, YANKEESRULE. :thumbsup:

It's a fantastic DVD, I've only borrowed it from a friend to watch a couple times, but it's definitely worth buying and I may do that now that this was brought up.

No, Sizzlin, we have another typical Yankee fan here and it's extremely funny laughing at her comments. If she really wants to make the effort to make a new user name just so we can laugh at her and her stupidity some more, then let her. Besides, when it comes the end of October and Alex still doesn't have a ring, she'll be gone anyway.

I don't remember being swept by the worst team in baseball or DOMINATED by Tampa Bay last year, either. Since when is second place GOOD ENOUGH for you guys? You also can't compare us in second last year to you in second this year, because you are playing horrible and you look like you'd get knocked out in the ALDS if you were to make the playoffs this year. Last year people really thought the Sox had a good shot at the World Series the way they were playing... do you think you have a shot at the World Series the way you're playing?
