I like Collinsworth because he loves the Patriots. I loved his "OH. MY. GOD." from last year. I love that he's biased. And that everyone I know who hates him are really annoyed by him as well.

Anyone else watching the game tonight? there's something screwy with the stupid nfl network signal where the audio just sucks. Its too quiet for the game so you turn it up and it sounds terrible, then when they go to commerical it almost blows the speakers out - but sounds great. It's annoying the hell outa me. I'm tivo-behind so it's 7-0 Packers if anyone cares

I'm pretty sure we'll have Tek or Kelly Shoppach catching next year. Shoppach makes all the sense in the world considering he already knows the organization and trained under Varitek for a bit. If the Sox are willing to trade Buchholz then I don't see Tek back.

I was just thinking... Manny's main goal is to at one point focus completly on hitting and not worry about the rest of his game, right? So he's a natural DH in-the-making and at some point he'll be back in the AL because of it right? He'd probably absolutely love to be a DH anywhere - happy camper, right? So how shrewd would it be to bring Manny back at say, 20x4 (under the selling point "Power hitters like Manny are hard to come by right now.." and even sell the whole "David/Manny" thing again for half the year) have Manny play left, with Bay in right and Drew in center with Ells and Coco on the bench, then trade Ortiz in a deadline trade that would no doubt bring something of great value even if short term, move Manny into the DH spot, stick Bay back in left then resign him after the season? Yes, 20/yr for a DH is expensive, but that's what Manny's going to be paid by someone in 2012 when he's finally a DH for the Angels or whoever - so why not the Sox and right now? And do you think Manny of all people would take same money in LA if he had to play defense every night over same money in Boston and just DHing? Ok guys, rip it up!

Why wouldn't they? It's a great deal for a guy who wins 10 games almost every year and if they need to unload him at any point, 4 million is easy to swallow.

Why is this such a big deal? If black players don't want to come to the Red Sox, don't come then. Why is it that nobody says anything about the high percentage of black athletes who choose the NBA or NFL over 4 years in the minors, then use the race card to explain away the low percentage of blacks in Baseball? If they don't want to come to Boston or don't want to play Baseball, I'm fine with it. It's their decision.

I'll tell you what, if it ever gets that far and Beckett somehow does win, I'd be pretty pumped about Lester going in game 7. But a ton has to happen from now until that moment actually may possibly happen. I leave it in the hands of the experts and not you guys.

Actually, on TV here, I thought it was loudest in the first inning after the K of Ellsbury. Then it just kind of wimpered out until the first hit. But that place was rockin after Ells struck out.

They may tax more, but the base tickets are still frickin half what they cost at fenway! I'm so psyched I'm thinking about grabbing two and heading down to Fla to see the Sox play the Tampa Devil Rays next week!!! Too bad its in a crappy dome though. Could they please do something about getting new turf or something that doesn't look like a dog pissed on it every night for 10 years?

Here's a question. If you buy tix for game 7 of the WS or LDS and the series doesn't go that many games, do they refund the money? I've never tried to buy tickets to a playoff game before and it only occured to me today that I could probably get a couple of good tickets to game 7 of the alds in Tampa. Since I live in GA it's not that bad of a drive since the game starts at 8pm.

It's so incredibly bad it's good. "We might lose 1 game to the Sox out of the 5 it's going to take us to go to the Series!" is almost Yogi-esque. JD Drews teeth??? I don't know how the guy filmed the whole thing without laughing just once, though it looked like he had talking points on a card somewhere.
