  1. I just suck at spelling in general. It took me a year to get Matsuzaka right. Or is it Matzusaki? BTW, your sig almost got me in trouble at work a while back. People still look at me strange.
  2. I don't think I've watched a single west coast game in its entirety this season. It's almost impossible now with the Celtics on at 8:30 every other night. I usually just stick around from innings 3-5 then go to bed. But I will say this, Wake, if you're reading this (AND I KNOW YOU ARE). You had better start to get your s*** together, man. They already got rid of your personal catcher and Masterson's on the way. Granted, right now DiceK, Schill and Buckholz are injured or recovering, but if you keep pitching the way you have, you're going to lose your job. Consider this your warning. Beckett, DiceK, Buckholz/Lester/Masterson/Colon looks pretty good to me right now. So get your s*** together old man or you'll be back pitching in Pittsburgh a hell of a lot faster than one of those meatballs you float up there to the plate. Now go get 'em! GO SOX!
  3. Ahhh, yeah she's hot, but she's about as cool as a box of nuts. (sorry Yeszir, I know you like nuts). I liked Tina, 9 million teeth and all. She has way more personality. But I'm sure Heidi will grow on me over time, like that stupid-annoying-shaky-as-hell-I-wanna-puke-shaky-as-hell new centerfield camera. I really hate it and want the old view back even if the new angle gives you a better idea of the strike zone. At least stop the shaking for god's sake. Gaaaa, rambling again. I also hate 10 pm games. Screw the west coast. I hope it falls off so there are no more 10 pm games. I really do. I miss Tina.
  4. It sucks that even though I have mlb.tv AND mlb Extra Innings, I cannot watch the pregame. It's so stupid. They should make an exception for WS winners on opening day.
  5. Nope, you don't get them. I live in GA and can watch the Sox games just fine (except Saturday Fox hours), but cannot watch a single Braves game because it's on TV.
  6. The switch from coffee to beer is gonna be rough, but I think I can do it.
  7. That and alarm clocks. 40 mins to gametime!!!!!!!
  8. I can't believe you guys are all bitching about a 6 am game. I love it. It's like an even more crazy Patriots day. I'm taking the day off, getting up around 4, drinking coffee for a while then cracking beers at 5 AM! Woohoo I can't wait! I'll be drunk before the sun comes up! GO SOX!
  9. And somewhere, Matt Clement smiles.
  10. I'll miss Belli. I just liked the guy.. That said, sure, he is old and a crappy hitter. But the most important thing he did was spell Tek and catch Wake at the same time. And he was good at it. Kevin Cash may be a defensive upgrade at this point and he may provide the same services that Dougie did in respect to Tek and Wake. But do any of you realize just how truly terrible a hitter Cash is? He's like the crappiest hitter at the Major League level. He's a career .167 hitter. CAREER. His best year he hit .193. I'm betting it's only a matter of months before the Kevin Cash experiment ends and Koteras is called up. Sometimes Theo and the guys make changes just for the sake of making changes. This smells of that. Good luck with the Tigers or whoever, Dougie. Cash, you got no chance.
  11. I love how this place lights up when spring training starts. Great intro thread VandaleIndustries. As for Ortiz, I honestly can't tell. He's always been a tubby, slow, power hitter. His stat increase from Minn lines up perfectly for me with his increase in playing time, and with that, consistancy. But who the hell knows nowadays? I don't care about steroids anymore - they all did it. I don't care who's clean or not anymore. They are what they are, modern era baseball players. And yes, if I were one of them, hell yeah I'd do it too. Who's fight is it anyway to stay clean? Who does that anymore? Would you ever take millions less in income and sit on the bench just so you could be THAT GUY who never did PEDs??? You'd be a fool if you did. And let me remind you where this all started. All these kids taking steroids because the athletes who they idolized were so big, the only way they could be that big is if they took steroids, blah blah blah. Where the hell are the parents in all this? Are they not to blame? Why do you need to idolize a baseball player instead of, say, your dad?
  12. I liked it when Bush told Pap "thanks for wearing pants." As for Manny, it wasn't mandatory to go, so he elected not to. I wish meetings at work were this easy to get out of. I'd never go to a single one.
  13. Ahh yes, the first year grid. That was nice. I had to explain 8 million times how it worked, and still nobody joined. I think I even offered some junk as a prize. Thanks SFOC. I'm joining the office pool tomorrow. :papelbon:
  14. Welcome to the site! You should like it here.
  15. This makes no sense to me on at least two different levels. I must be missing something or this is smoke.
  16. Jesus Christ. I've seen 5 Celtics games this year and I've seen them lose 3 times. wtf? By OT, 1 and 2pts.
  17. Hmmm. If Clemens had chosen the Sox over the Yanks to come back to, would his name have been saved?
  18. This is a no-brainer. You have to keep him around for two reasons. 1 - there are hardly any other options around the league to replace him. Teams who currently have good catchers lined up are not getting rid of them unless that team is the Marlins. I'd like for the people who say "we should get someone else" to simply tell me who, and how we get them. 2 - need I remind you all how the team played the last TWO times Tek got injured and missed time??? The exact same thing happend both years.
  19. I wouldn't be surprised if the Yanks came back with Kennedy in the mix. It makes complete sense for the new "boss" to make a splash like that and ink a Santana. That's the great thing about this whole saga, that if the Sox get Santana they get Santana on top of all the young players they already have and get better as a team, but if the Yanks get him they blow their entire wad going forward on a guy who, if he doesn't live up to Pedro numbers will be bood in NY. But if he comes to Boston he'll be pitching ahead of Beckett, Dice and Schilling. It's win-win. Hell, it's WINTASTIC!
  20. Anyone have the Baseball Prospectus article by Will Caroll??
  21. Schilling is going to be on Sports Unfiltered With Dennis Miller tonight at 8 if you're interested and you get the show.
  22. Ummm. That's a little ironic, don't you think? If he could sell ad space during the upstairs play review, I think he'd jump all over it.
  23. Manny actually had a good interview! Papi's next.
