Going 30-5 has happened 26 times since the WS era beginning in 1903.

Going 31-5 has happened once since the WS era beginning in 1903.

Mathematically impossible.  That means the 30-5 team went 1-25 over the next games.

Slaten had bat luck with the ball hitting home plate and staying in the air so long because of it. Lucky bounce for the White Sox.

You still can’t make that throw

Just reporting what I heard and saw on YouTube. I also looked it up on Google. I admit it does seem impossible.

Sorry Joe, It is not impossible to have a 1-25 outcome on 26 independent games. Unlikely,  not impossible

If you want impossible try having pitchers field and throw accurately on hurried plays

It's a funny play to watch, if it isn't happening to you.  That hung up there a heck of a long time.

33,554,432-1 odds, assuming every game was even money.

I still remember when Lester threw his glove with the ball in it to first.

That's more like only 3 million to 1.  I was going to post the same thing in my previous response.  Pitchers throw it away about 50% of the time, or so it seems.

Durbin should have put on the sliding mitt between 1st and 2nd. Needs to carry it in his back pocket or a small fanny pack

Or maybe they should teach ballplayers how to slide feet first.

There is no teaching, only learning

Sounds like something you may have heard on the TV show Kung Fu.

Duran has hit a lot of atem balls this season.

Mono or Durbin should have tried a safety squeeze to get the run in. Crucial to tie the game.

For the first 2.5 months of the season every poster in here would have said the game was over when the White Sox went up 4-0, including me. Now, everyone in here thinks the Red Sox will come back and win. What a turn around.

Thanks for the number.  Nothing slides through easily on a game thread

I’ve been following this team since the 60s and I’ve never seen anything like this
