Hard to ask for a better start than that, right? Crochet looked dominant, the Roman Empire looks even stronger in Year 2, and Mayer looked really good off the bench.

Going to be a busy week — five games vs Reds & Astros before the next day off.

If Mayer can stay healthy, he will be a perennial all star for us. Hit, defense and some power. He is built for success at Fenway!!!!

I know everybody is going to focus on the previous proliferation of injuries, and that is why I say “if Mayer can stay healthy”

It's very fair to hedge all conversations about Mayer with his health status.

I think that's excessive, but I like that you said it.

I’m hoping his surgery last year keeps him healthy for once…

Well, he's had a string of injuries, not all connected to his wrist.

His wrist is completely separate from his body?!?

That’s a much bigger problem!

Today was Opening Day for Bobby Dalbec too!

Yomiuri Giants newcomer Bobby Dalbec is the first non-Japanese player in club history to hit in the 4th spot for the Giants in his 1st year in NPB, and hit a HR on Opening Day. He's the 12th Giants player to hit a HR in his 1st game in the 4th spot

Needs to stay on the field and then I can see this happening. Red Sox depth will allow AC to ease him in against lefties.

Cubs & Hoerner agree to $115M/6 extension.

Let's see what they do with Matt Shaw.

Rightfield until Suzuki returns.  That why I question signing guys like Bregman.  You get a good player to replace a pretty decent player, when the $31M could've been spent elsewhere.
