You’re correct.

cots and B-R call it a mutual option.  MLBTR has it as a team option.  So maybe MLBTR is wrong here?

Essentially, Polanco -- who was limited mightily with a left knee injury during his first season in Seattle -- gained clarity on his outlook for 2026 and the financial security that now comes with it, if he indeed exercises the option. The Mariners also carry a $750,000 buyout on that option.

We seem to be more shy about years than aav, but understood theres an obvious aav gap between vladdy jr vs alonso + bregman

YEARS go first.

Tax line is important, too.

I walked that back and will concede I got carried away.

But I think over the next 2 years Schwarbers OPS beats devers and alonsos

And there’s no shame in not being as good of a hitter as Juan Soto…

I'm counting Polanco as available. If I had to rank the best batters, among availables, I might go...

1. Schwarber

2. Alonso

(Big Gap)

3. Suarez

4. Polanco

5. Tucker

(Big Gap)

6. Bregman/Bichette

8. Bellinger/Ozuna

SPOTrac does not even list him, and they list all the option players.

Tucker below, well, anyone?

In the last 3 years, he’s in the top ten wOBA, xwOBA, wRC, wRC+, OPS, and, well, pretty much any offensive metric you can name…

True. I think I lowered him due being last in good ole fashioned PAs & HRs.

We don't need an OF'er, but my list was supposed to be just bat value. Point well taken.

Bregman is not that great of a hitter, and 2025 might have been his last hurrah for decent O. Of course, he's younger than Suarez, but I'd put Suarez over Breggie for 2026 and probably 2027, too.

Schwarber & Tucker

Alonso

Gap

Suarez & Polanco

Gap

Bregman/Bichette/Bellinger

Gap

Naylor/Hoskins
