That run scored by Eaton was unreal because he scored from 1b on a single that was fielded cleanly and followed by an excellent throw to home plate.

Fortunately,  Eaton was running on the pitch or else he would have had to hold 3rd. Exciting play

Been awhile for one of those for Breg. Funny the Sox can't do that with men on base. But take what you can get.

2 for September  but that was a meaningful one .

The way Masa was treated by the Sox organization this season I seriously doubt the Sox will have much success acquiring another Japanese ballplayer.

I'm more concerned with how we get rid of the one we have.  Surely he could go in a package deal where they just pay 90% of 2 year salary

He’s been better lately. Unfortunately there was only one way to go from where he was.

That us my thought too. Makes it easier to advocate for changes if this group fails.

Do not confuse this with rooting against them or for others.  But an opinion that the team needs reasons to take some hard choices. For example. bite the bullet on Yoshida

Cora is confident the Sox will handle the Rays in this series, but I lack confidence in Cora's statements. The Sox need a hard ass who will make the necessary choices about players.  The Sox need decisive management who will use our young talented players and get rid of those who can't contribute. You cite Yoshida as an example and most on here agree with you. The disposition of Rafaela and Casas are more difficult questions. We need to bring in a legitimate power bat. We only have one player this year who will eclipse 25 home runs.

I'd be more concerned how to avoid paying BREG another 40 million.

we have not really had too much success over all in that market anyway with a few exceptions

Crochet has been looking tired in his last few starts. Either physically or mentally or a little of both.

He , like others, is coasting to the finish line.  Given up 2 HRs in 3 innings.

Bet he is done after 5 if Sox can steal a lead somehow

Guardians up 2-0

By the end of the night we will no longer be in the WC picture. We don’t deserve it anyway.

are you always this negative??  You make me look like a ray of sunshine

I can’t think of anyone we got who has contributed in that market

hopefully he opts out.  i like the player but NO WAY he is worth 40 million per. At this stage I don't go over 22 million per and even that is really too high at this point in his career.

I seriously doubt Crochet is intentionally coasting to the finish line. I'd expect that from Fred.

I don’t see a lot of positives about these bums. Just the kids-but they aren’t even playing now. Crochet has had a good season but he’s worn out, Chapman only pitches when we need a save-he’s been excellent.
But the bottom line is that the Flops were  2 1/2 games out of first place on Sept 1. Since then they have choked everything away.
Again

Tazawa was a decent 7th/8th inning guy for a few years (so long as you never let him pitch in Toronto).

You didn’t like the Mound Rodent?

His performance on 4 days rest has been very mediocre when compared to how he’s done on 5 or more.  It’s not horrible, but not nearly as good.

He makes Steven Wright look like a ray of sunshine.

Along those lines I think we should conduct a morbid poll: how many games will be left when the Flops are eliminated.
I say three.
