This was a dumb call by Cora. I relay more in a SB by Rafaela than bunt by Wong who has been hitting the ball well recently. Then comes the 2P hence a wasted inning.

Those are the little big mistakes and intangibles that are taxing us.

He makes a lot of mistakes

should have left Tolle in. FU Wissert.

Tolle was already 8 pitches over his target of 72.  Weissert just stunk, that's all.

They really gave up on this game by putting hicks. f*** you cora .

Another mistake by Cora. He didn’t cost us the game but he sure didn’t help

Not a strong effort by Hicks.  Not sure how much more evidence Cora needs to keep this guy out of high leverage situations.  He simply doesn’t have the mental fortitude to deal with it

Should have sent Wilson first lol

Whata joke of managing by Cora.

… and I dont care the LvR thing.

The Sox haven't scored enough runs lately to have anything but high leverage situations.

how bad is your bullpen when the worst hitting team in baseball beats the crap out of them?

I thought they'd take Tolle out after 5. I think he was at 69 or 70 pitches, which is what they were giving him in the minors.

He was at 72 after 5. I can't blame Cora for sending him back out because he was doing so well.

Weissert simply came out to throw more wood on the fire.  I know how you rank him, but I cannot for the life of me see how he gets people out.  He does not have great stuff and must rely on exquisite command, which he didn't have tonight against the worst hitting team in MLB.

Bregman slump continues.

The bullpen has been excellent. They obviously didn’t get the job done tonight. The problem is the offense.

BP is good but in this game Cora managed it very bad.

Can’t lose at home to the Pirates in late August.  Can’t happen.

Wilson did well, I agree.  But Weissert's ERA was under 3 and he was going in against an all righty bat Pirates lineup.

I don’t care. He can’t handle high leverage situations. He cost us the a game the other day as well in the 9th.

Agree.  The offense lately is anemic. Tonight it's 1 ER in 8 IP so far.  Terrible.

So Yankees will be the top wildcard after tonight. I keep saying it all these remaining games are playoff games.

Crappy effort tonight by this team .

It’s been very anemic for a while. Pitching has been carrying this team in recent weeks.

Tolle hadn't pitched 80 pitches since June. His pitch counts before tonight:

53 64 64 69 64 72 71 63

You think I like Weissert?  I don't.  I'm just explaining why he got sent out--low ERA and righty going against righty bats.

5 relievers tonight:  Weissert gave up 3 runs (2 counting against Tolle), Slaten gave up 2 hit and a walk but no runs.  Hicks gave up a run. Wilson got 2 outs and no one on base.  Bernardino gave up a double and a walk but escape.

So this was by no means the great Sox bullpen tonight.  That said, I agree with everyone that the hitting stinks yet again.

Romy Ks on a ball in the dirt. That’s a major reason why this offense has been sucking. No contact.

The guy is 3 for 4. You are losing the last thread of cred.

I don’t really care what you think about my credibility
