There's something about Anthony's demeanor on the field that reminds me of Yaz.

Nope.  More like Ted Williams.

The Roman Empire wins it!!!  The kid is fun to watch

He sure is.  Heck, he's even decent in the outfield.

Don't go crazy Max.

I'm talking more about style and presence than accomplishments.   Both were/are tall, had/have a good eye for balls and strike, and showed their ability in their first year.  .

However, to me it's a dead heat between Ruth and Williams as to who was the greatest hitter ever.  In his rookie year, age 21, Williams OPS was freaking 1.049 in 149 games.  No way do I put Anthony in their company,--which doesn't trouble me the least little bit.  Anthony is still amazing.

I think I read that the Flops pen has been #1 in baseball since the ASB-not sure of the time frame but it’s been very good

Not gonna get Roman to sign for 60 mil for 8 years.

Maybe in FEB or a Rafaela plus deal.

The Jays lose to KC. The Bankees blow a lead against the Marlins and are tied at 10 bottom of the 9th in Miami. Cleveland is back in it too. The Mariners imo are the team to beat in the AL now. They went all in.

Are you getting this game? Probably because its a home game for you, at least on your home TV station.

BTW: Toto is Dorothy's dog.....he doesn't play baseball

Fred: If you are a real Sox fan I would think you'd stop referring to them as the Flops. They have won more WS titles than any other team since 2003. They have over achieved so far this year and they have a great nucleus of young players.

Great team effort, but the hero tonight was Criswell.

He sure was.  We all love Anthony's huge hit in the 10th, but it was the Sox pitching that made this game winnable.

I’ve likely been a Sox fan since before you were a zygote. There have been several missteps on this team , most recently when our incompetent GM couldn’t do his job and decide whether to fortify the team with a bona fide star or two (like the Mariners did) or to decide to play for the future and be sellers. Every other contender improved their team significantly and we got M&Ms. while I agree that they have been playing well and have an especially good outlook for the future (if Henry opens his wallet and Breslow and Cora are fired) I am very tired of last place finishes and .500 teams year after year.
So for now they’re the Flops.

It was nice seeing you be wrong, tonight. Maybe this is the start to something! LOL

I'm not sure the word "flops" fits, as that implies we had good teams that underperformed.

Maybe our management team are flops & misers, but the teams have largely played up to expectations.

Yes-it was nice to be wrong. But in fairness I never said they wouldn’t win tonight. I said I thought they’d take one of the three games against the Astros.

Hope I’m wrong about that too.

I've given similar stats several times, before.

Toto's nice run is over.

It's time to call Campbell up for a chance at 1B. Too bad he's not the right hand to platoon with Romy, but we can use Romy at 2B, anyway.

yep. Toto ain't in Kansas anymore.
