going in 27-27 , that comfortable .500 magnet.  Not too bad, not too good, just about right .

A team  on the margin losing their most  professional hitter and GG 3Bman, lost their not so great 1Bman , have  multiple expected starters on the IL .      Playing an infield today with 2 pure rookies, a utility backup, and Abraham Toro at first.

Playing the Orioles with a .333 win %  in the game that decides the series winner , a key to playoff entry.

IMO, this is a must win because a split at home with the O's puts the boys of Spring under the magnet level spinning like a  compass on the Titanic.

Looking for a better day from " Can't find my keys"  Mayer .

If ever the Sox needed an early blow out, like the late one Friday , today is it.  Must win this series at Fenway against a losing team.   The guys may be tired after 2 yesterday but Buehler needs to stay quiet and dominant while the runs flow for Boston.

Mayer's effort for a first HR falls just short into  the O's glove.  Carlson of the Orioles hits his about 10' farther and circles the bases .

If Boston is not the single most frustrating team at home, and maybe on the road,   I don't know who is.

Now scored 1 run in 14 innings and that came in the 9th of a 1 run loss.

.500 team

Just like the last several years. Mediocrity sucks.

Don’t show up to the park until they put a good product on the field. This is terrible. I didn’t think they would be this terrible. Very disappointing to say the least.

The Sox aren't terrible yet. They're still in the mediocre category, but terrible is definitely a future.possibility.

Wonder what the hell is Cora doing to the pen. At this pace by July everyone is going to be gassed out and some at IL.

it's like Little League -every player has to play and the wins don't matter.

Narvaez keeps hitting no matter what. It’s still early but if he turns into a real deal this could be one of the greatest steals in baseball lol

This new Cora’s 85 pitch threshold is simply ridiculous especially when you have legit chances to win some games.

Just thinking ahead a little, Sox will be at 27 or 28 wins after today ( there's always a 1% chance they win this one) , leaving 107 to go.

Assume it takes 90 wins to make a WC slot  .  The Sox would need to go 62 or 63 and 45/44  to reach 90 W's

That is a .589 win pace.  There are only 6 teams in MLB currently at .589 or better ( NYY, LAD, Cubs, Tigers, Mets, Phillies)   .

Dream on, this season's shot at the playoffs is rapidly dying right here in late May .

Wake up---that is a AAA/AAAA infield behind your pitching .    Don't be surprised when they don't make routine plays
