I think brining in Whitlock is the right call.

Fingers crossed.

We need this win!

Still thinking Whitlock is the right guy ?  But who else do we trust ?

Whitlock you can’t blow this game.

If they lose, it’s on the lack of offense…

Not much you can do on ground ball hits.  Especially after you’ve struck somebody out.

Huh? Please expand on this.

Pinch runner to get the potential lead run into scoring position while Cora does nothing to move his struggling offense this series, except bench players with favorable match ups…

It’s incredible we are in this situation against this AAA team man, mostly when Crochet is giving you a gem. Cora has to do something ASAP.

What do all of you guys want Cora to do? He can’t make these guys hit the ball and I don’t think he’s made a “bad” decision today. Whitlock is one of the teams best pitchers and 0 runs would’ve scored if not for the ump being awful and missing an easy strike 3.

Plus both hits off Whitlock were ground balls.

You might, repeat, might, have a complaint about removing Crochet, but that’s modern baseball strategy.  Plus like you said, it’s not as if he brought in the 13th guy on the staff.

This game, fine.

But this year I don’t like him much and he does hinder the team with his bizarre dedication to platoons.  So yes he is frustrating me this season…

He could shake up the lineup a bit and take off pressure from guys like Casas, Duran, Rafaela, etc. I also believe they shall call Yoshida, Mayer and Anthony if this drought continues and send down guys like Hamilton and even Casas. There’s no need to wait, it’s evident this offense is struggling badly.

Yes. He was the right guy. It was the right choice.

Not all right choices work out.

Duran has had very bad luck to start the year. He’ll be fine.

Rafaela bats 9th, I’m not really sure what pressure he would be feeling hitting last.

Hamilton barely plays at all and Casas is typically a slow starter and we just don’t really many 1B options right now.

I don’t think Cora is in charge of calling up Anthony or Mayer but Mayer plays SS/3B and maybe 2nd, those positions are three of only guys hitting at all, he would be taking AB from Story, Bregman or Campbell.

I think I’d be happier if he’d just stop platooning Casas with a guy who hits LHP worse than Casas does.

I’d’ also recommend not platooning defensive question mark Refsnyder with Abreu, but I at least know why he does it

He did shake it up, and he actually did my suggestion: bat Abreu 4th v RHPs. He moves Casas down to 6th (not even 5th) and kept Story up 5th, and it worked.

Agreed. The good thing about Rafaela is that he is still a plus on WAR, due to great D in CF. If he keeps struggling, no team in MLB has a better OF prospect who is ML ready.

We may end up seeing:
LF Anthony

CF Duran

RF Abreu-Refsnyder

Rafaela can be the 4th OF'er, defensive replacement OF'er and back up middle IF'er. We can demote DHam for Anthony and have Rafaela take over his sub role.

Cora could certainly push for Mayer and Anthony, but for all we know he is asking for them daily.  Can’t fault him for that lack of call up.

Casas is a slow starter, but why make it even slower?
