When you watch Salem, the catcher there, musset kind of jumps out as a guy that has good at bats and seems to be getting it! He still chases pitches but I think he might get to Greenville this year

The catching in the lower minors is horrible. If he goes to SAL, he'll just mash. GRE has Brannon and White, but maybe they move somebody to AA?

It's not like AAA has anyone promising: it's more like a stashing ground for journeymen ex-MLB catchers, so maybe move a AA catcher (Kolosvary/Rosario?) to AAA. I agree that Jo Garcia needs to be in GRE.

The catching situation is pretty dire. I think that GRE team is loaded, so if they add Johanfran (after adding Freili) they may need to move another guy up to POR to make room. 

I have no idea what they'll do. Garcia only had 14 games at SAL so it wouldn't be a huge shocker for him to go there for a few months. Nobody would be in his way.

I'd expect him to play 3b less and less going forward. He's not very good at it. 

If they can't move Story, Mayer will just end up at 3b next season too. 🫣

There are quite a few examples of guys like Toro & Romy, who are just plain late bloomers. Refsnyder is one such example.

I'm not saying I have complete faith in a Toro-Romy 1B platoon, but I think we maye see a.775 to .800+ combined OPS from them by the end of '25. That's not far from what we expected Casas to give us, this year.

Jordan and Garcia both 1 for 5 tonight for Worcester! Garcia with his 5th tater!!!

Early went 5 innings gave up 1 earned run (tater) and 3 hits. Only 1 walk today for early, I think I command is the only thing keeping him from Worcester! 
ehrhard and Castro with their 3rd taters for Portland! 

Arias went hitless tonight 0 for 4 with a walk, and Anderson was 1 for 4 with two rbi for Greenville 

At Salem Gonzales was zero for 4 with a walk. Musset was zero for two with two walks

Toro has hit in AAA, Eaton hasn't. 

Trayce has had a 38% k rate since 2017 in MLB. Unplayable.

Finally got to see song throw and I was impressed. Fastball was really good. Kind of weird, but I could not differentiate between the two seam or a 4 seam pitch!!  
the secondary stuff was decent. Could be a little sharper, but that is nitpicking !!!  
 

the bottom line is this kid has major league stuff, maybe he is a 2026 bullpen arm that can contribute!!!!

One more pitcher added the the list over two dozen names long that have some level of decent promise- even as just a good RP'er.

Well, going 3 for 5 in one game doesn't make a player hot as hell IMO. He's had a good year, but I wouldn't count on him for much.

Okay, but are his overall numbers that far away from Toro's AAA numbers?

My post was made in jest, anyway. I've been posting how we have no room for all 14 deserving players, so adding Eaton makes zero sense.

BTW, Eaton is 4-8 w 2 Hrs in a 2B in last 2 games, and since May 27:

13-37 (.351) w 3HRs & 8 XBHs (3BB & 2 HBP)

That's pretty "hot."
