their decisions are insane. i've said it before and i'll say it again: you, notin, mvp and moon would do a better job than Brezslow and the rest of Henry's brown-noser, yes-men.

Put me in charge and I’ll sink this team to previously unforeseen depths.  I’ll go where no team has gone before, except maybe the 2024 White Sox.

It’s more of a prediction than a promise or threat.  I’m straight up Board Talk and nothing else…

I would never work with notin and moon!!! 😤

Absolutely true.  I’d fire you on Day One.  Possibly even Day Zero if I had the means to do so.

But on the bright side, I’d re-hire you quickly.  It would only be so I could fire you again, but I’ll let you find the positive takeaway…

I don't know about you guys, but I'm going to put in an application for one of the new positions opening up for associate assistant vice presidents.

For your sake, I hope Kennedy uses flavored shoe polish…

And that's the origin story of how I got jokerfied into becoming a John Henry yes-man...

I hear Carrot Top has signed on to play you in the movie…

On Wilyer Abreu and his value:

He has largely been used as a platoon batter, as he started 89 of 104 games vs a RH'd SP and only 5 vs 41 LH'd SP'ers, but he also missed 3 weeks with an injury in June. Of course, no platoon batter will ever have really top value, and we must consider this:

OPS when starting vs RHP: .853 and .643 v LH'd SP'er (better than his overall splits of .876/.511.)

Fangraphs has his RF defense as being very good: +5 OAA, +10 DRS and +4.2 UZR/150.

The guy just turned 25, this summer.

Some are saying his trade value equals a mid RP'er. I think he is worth a decent #3/4 SP'er or very good set-up man- maybe 2 decent set-up men.

Any thoughts?

The working title is “Air Bud: Safe At Turd”

This would make sense as Buddy did win a WS in Seventh Inning Fetch and this feature would be the downfall afterwards.

Which one of us would be part of the Fram-ily?

As mentioned earlier, this is an origin story.  So it’s a prequel.

Buddy’s downfall comes in the next feature “Air Bud: Fixed By Pitch”

Well, I don't want to spoil Air Bud 3: World Pup, but Buddy getting "fixed" would drastically change events in that movie.

Actually no.  That all gets explained in “Air Bud: Automated Strike Clone”….

he makes a lot of sense as a secondary piece in a major trade.

as a stand alone trade piece, maybe we get an average middle innings bullpen arm

I think you are underselling Abreu or overselling average middle inning guys.

Who is an average middle inning guy? Bernardino? Kelly? Wink?

I don't see an average middle man being equal to a good defensive RF'er that is top 30 in OPS and has 5 years of control at a low cost.

I do think he's more of a major piece in a package with a better player, but stand alone, he gets 2 mid guys or a very good 8th inning guy or maybe a decent #4 SP or top #4 type.

Maybe you are right. The five years of control is valuable! And he hits right handed pitching ok.

vs RHP per 670 PAs

.280  28  100 (.876 OPS)

Umm... yes... "A- Oh- Kay!"

Nice D in a tough position to play well, too.

If we find a way to move Yoshida, without paying a huge chunk of his deal, I think we talk Ref into one more year- promising him he will DH vs all LHPs and some righties. Platoon Ref and Abreu at DH.

1. Duran LF

2. Campbell 2B

3. Casas 1B

4. Devers 3B

5. Abreu-Ref DH

6. Story SS

7. Anthony RF (Abreu)

8. Wong C

9. Rafaela CF (Anthony)

Bench: Gasper or Heineman at C, DHam, Romy and Ref/Abreu/Rafaela (whoever is not starting)

none of this will matter unless the team makes some SERIOUS  improvement with the pitching.
