Huge series win for the Sox. Great end to play before the A-S break. Kenley can now enjoy the break with a 2 inning save. CB better know which lane to be in for the remainder. There are still holes to be plugged for this team, but enjoy the way over .500 finish and the development of some young players.

The draft is now imminent, could we get the next group of guys that will be pushing up the roster in a couple years.?

Hopefully, Kenley won't be asked to pitch two innings in the future.

ASB starts tomorrow. This was an ok time for it…

Sox no-names are playing their buns off. So is big name Devers. They are 3.5 behind the Yankees and 4.5 behind the Orioles. Breslow and JH need to get serious about picking up an arm or two.

The SOX FO better make up their mind whether to go after 2 good arms or to protect their precious prospects. They can't do both. It's a shame there's nothing on the farm in the way of starters; that, of course, would make things a little easier.

I don't know if Duran could have made the throw Rafaela made. Of course, moving Rafaela to CF weakens the SS position defensively, as we've just found out.

I think he could have, but the fact is that Rafaela in fact made a fantastic throw at a crucial moment in the game--just as Duran made that great throw from CF a week or two ago.

Sox can go eons without producing a good starter from the farm. Other teams seem to develop one a month.

But the real point is that the head shed should be feeling a lot of heat right now. I don't remember the last time a Sox manager--or a manager from any other team--went public with the need for the FO to get reinforcements. An old military axiom is reinforce success.

Do us all a favor and don't forget to start the game thread for the Sox next Friday, July 19, @ LA Dodgers. Sox are 7-3 in their last 10 and the Dodgers are 3-7.

Kudos to Dom Smith. He took a lot of abuse, myself included, so now he deserves a little love. He was a very big reason the SOX won this series.

Indeed.

Worst case scenario would be that the SOX trade for a middle of the rotation starter and use Criswell for depth.

Maybe not the worst case, but it would be the least they could do.

Great game!

Bello looked decent, and the team usually finds ways to win with him on the mound.

Let’s hope the break lets us recharge the batteries and come out wailing on the Dodgers.

Are we all enjoying this, yet?

As one of a very limited number that were optimistic in the pre-season, even I’m pleasantly surprised with this team…

Yes, you did stay pretty high on the Sox, through the winter.

I guess you had to to defend your Bloom loving ass!!! LOL!

This joke does lead me to wonder if Bloom’s final grade is inching higher as some of his additions are finally coming through or improving.

DHam is making the Renfroe trade look better.

Wong is giving us some value that Downs failed to give.

Abreu has been buttah!

Ref is killing the opponents!

Pivetta is doing okay.

Kelly is doing real well.

Jansen is better than 2023.

Bernardino & Booser have helped.

Wink has been okay.

Many Bloom prospects have jumped, this season.

This team has me really freaking excited. That’s all I have to say. If we just keep beating the team we’re supposed to beat, and play above .500 in the division, we will be just fine.

I haven’t defended Bloom on anything since July 31, 2023.

But the guy had his skill sets. You don’t get as high as he did with multiple teams unless you know what you’re doing…

Since I knew the Red Sox were going to win today, i watched the end of O's-Yankees. I have since watched the Verdugo face plant about 35 times for the loss and not tired of it yet. f*** that hot dog and his neck chains. Yankees blew 2 shots at the 3rd out and couldn't make a play .

Oh wait, this is a Red Sox site , and they did make the plays and hits except for Gonzalez, give the man a few days off and a plane ticket to LA. Incredible results for this group in '24 and more to come with reinforcements this time, maybe Craig ,baby

OTH, the '23 Sox were 5 games over at the break, and went down the tubes thereafter to the 78-84 basement level. Not this year.
