Seeing as how most in this SOX line-up can barely hit 93-94 mph fastballs, anything faster would just be overkill.

Dumb, yes. You can never assume the inning will play out the same, but at the end of it all, you still had Devers up with the bases loaded and he failed to even get the bat on the ball.

 

Merloni called the 3-2 slider before it was thrown. “If he threw it 3-1, he’s going to throw it 3-2” or words to that effect.

Three terrific outs to finish the 7th inning--and with men on 2d and 3d and no one out, yet.

 

Sox are likely to lose because they can't hit Twins pitching to save their lives, but I really like that bottom of the 7th.

there have been a ton. i think the best thing Henry could do would be to try to figure out what led to the thinking on those horrible contracts. something led them to make those decisions. i highly doubt it was one person specifically, but rather a team of individuals and a very involved evaluation process. THAT process has failed them. and THAT'S what they need to look at.
