Wrong! You were right to compliment the defense, which has in fact been pretty good, even today despite the abysmal throws, passed ball, etc by McGuire.

 

The killer was the grand slam dished up by Anderson. Nevertheless, the Sox came back and got it to 5-4.

 

I was impressed by Cleveland's bunting. Plus they loved having McGuire behind the plate.

What frustrates me about Rafaela is with all his speed he doesn't appear to know how to bunt. There's no excuse for that.

I guess there is an excuse; bad coaching in the minors.

If he could bunt well, it might draw the corner IF'ers in and allow for more hits on well-placed grounders, too.

Does he not know how or does Cora never call him to? I'm not sure that is always Rafaela's decision. He's only made 2 bunt attempts n his brief career.

 

But what does this also say about Duran?. He's even faster, and only has 3 bunt hits in his career (on 9 attempts). You'd think a slumping speedster like Duran might try more often...

You can probably count the number of players in the majors who can consistently bunt for a base hit on two hands, and I mean that’s across all 30 teams.
