Soto would be a great fit in the short-porch Bronx -- better than with the Sox' lefty-imbalanced line-up in Fenway.

He would gave NY a top four that could transform into world beaters: Volpe-Judge-Soto-Stanton... Boston could counter with L-L-L-L-L-L-Story-Wong-Ugh

Soto is a perfect fit for the Yankees. The only downside - that his defense won’t cover that cavernous left field - is absolutely no reason to not pursue this.

The question becomes - can the Padres get Jasson Dominguez in this deal? It’s just for one season (barring extension), but even then it’s certainly worth it…

The Yankees I knew all my life would never trade for a superstar in his prime and not sign him.

If Soto goes to the Bronx, it would be like the Dodgers dealing three prospects for 12 years of Mookie.

I’d be surprised if they didn’t extend him. But until they do, he remains one year left.

And because it’s one year left, it does affect what San Diego can get for him.

And the Dodgers didn’t trade for 12 years of Mookie. If Mookie had 12 years left, the Sox wouldn’t have traded him. He had one year left, the Sox could have not traded him and he still might have wound up in LA for 12 years…

That is very much their history.

Recently, they did trade away Montgomery, but he was hardly a superstar.

Teams like LA and Houston do let some stars go.

If they could extend him without a no-trade clause, he may be worth more in trade than now.

My bad -- with the extension, LA actually traded for 13 years of Mookie.

He'll be playing into the 2030s. Don't know if I'll still be around by then, but as long as I am, this fan will never forgive the Red Sox.

Sounds like a cheap shot .

It wasn't.

I love Nate and wish we brought him back.

He was looking invincible, until last night. I pointed it out.

That's what happens when you walk the number 9 hitter. He screwed himself there

Also very true. Take the outs they give you…

First world championship for the Rangers. Good for them. And Bochy adds to his legacy as one of the great managers.

Bochy does seem to do a great job.

Remember when Jacko used to talk Nate trash?

You mean how he always seemed to get hurt down the stretch? Never talked trash about his postseason resume, just that the guy was good for a couple months on the IL. He proved that again this year

I'd take his 2023 season, IL or not.
