Paxton is a guy that should be back here. Wis we could get rid of sale. The guy can’t stay healthy.

You do realize Paxton has missed ton of time due to injuries right?

Another excellent performance by Paxton, who is as close to an ACE as the SOX have had since the healthy years of Sale.

Bello and Paxton should be 40% of next year's rotation. Sale will be back, lol. Houck may be finally feeling ok . Maybe we only need 1 more, plus the usual suspects in reserve in case something happens ( Whitlock, Pivetta, Crawford ,NOT Kluber)

Yes but how long has sale been here already? Again the guy can’t stay healthy.

And I am sure Paxton will miss games again, as will Sale, but you don't want to send Bloom shopping for 2 FA starters, do you ?

Duran has had some difficulties at times , like a lot of consecutive K's, but he is hitting .796 OPS, with 15 SBs . He has over 225 Pa's so it is not a real small sample. If he could maintain that pace through September, he becomes a keeper

Let me just point out that not all Sox fans just love the little fat boy at 3rd. He is not bright.

Great shutout by Paxton, Martin and Ort, a rare combo. But we outscored Toronto which is all it takes to win in MLB

Terrific win, especially Paxton's 7.2 innings and 0 runs. For a change, the Sox backed him up with with 3 dingers and 5 runs and some pretty good defense, the collision and dropped ball in the 9th notwithstanding. Edited by Maxbialystock

So against the Jays and the Yankems the SOX are 10-1. Berry Oh's has a career record against the SOX of 1-6.

And, there I was thinking us playing less ALE games would help us.

Rumors of the Orioles starting an epic collapse are just that- a rumor, but they are down 8-1, tonight and are on their way to their 3rd straight loss.

After finishing with MN on Sunday, this is their upcoming schedule:

4@ NYY

3@ MN

(Break)

3 v MIA

3 v LAD

4@ TBR

3@ PHI

3 v NYY

4@TOR

Home for 3 NYM/3HOU

Away for 3 SEA/SDP/OAK

They don't really get a break until AUG 18 @ OAK

DEFENSE! Duran robs Vlad, who tipped his helmet, and the infield actually looked good last night. Hamilton and Arroyo turned a sharp DP (not "nifty" OB, because that's just uncool), Casas made some professional stretches and scoops, and Devers showed quick reflexes.

Then Raffy plowed into Arroyo on the 9th inning pop-up, and Christian still looked pissed at the end of the game... doubt that happens with a veteran presence like Bogaerts directing traffic from short. Sure, it may take years for Mayer to take charge -- but Sox fans need only look to Baltimore and how quickly the O's turned respectable, once Rutschman became catcher.

So against the Jays and the Yankems the SOX are 10-1.

Unfortunately counterbalanced by being 1-10 against the Florida Men, Tampa and Miami.

That's why we're the Even Stevens.

It pissed me off too because Arroyo did call for it and the replay did not show Devers calling for it. That said, this was an error of commission vice omission. With two guys battling each other for that popup, there was still a good chance one would catch it. With both of them making way for the other to catch it, there's a 100% chance it will not be caught.

About Bogey. I think we all liked him a lot--and no doubt still do. But I honestly don't think his salary--which will continue for a bunch more years--matches his overall performance, nor will it.

The Sox already signed Story for 6 years and $140. They also have the kid (Marcelo Mayer) at AA. However, Story is on the IL, and so are Chang and Reyes. That's four freaking SS's who are not available. Thus has Kike played SS a fair amount, and now Hamilton.
