Sometimes I think a guy hitting HR is the worst thing that can happen to them Yu Chang would be at SS and not on IL if he hadn't swung out of his shoes in his last AB. Valdez now thinks he's a power hitter

Maybe Kike should make all his throws from his knees.

I don’t like Arroyo at SS either, but he was just starting to hit, and Cora benched him tonight for Kike who had only 1 hit against the starter.

Because he struck out on a 98 mph fastball?

So to get a win, it must be a walkoff. Who has the magic bat tonight. Devers would be a good choice

Xander is only absolutely dominating with the padres and playing solid defense

If the Sox extended him, then it’s pretty likely Devers would have walked after this year…

There is no valid excuse for Xander and Devers to not retire in Boston, especially when they’re throwing away money at guys like Kluber and Paxton

Apparently it’s Verdugo…

Because he struck out on a pitch that was way high and outside, meaning to me he was determined to swing at anything because he is so good.

I don’t think the $20mill they threw at Kluber and Paxton was a factor in whether or not to throw $300mill at Devers…

Dugo has come into his own!

Maybe JH and Bloom could have a cup of Dunkin and discuss locking Dugo up soon .

What about the $150 million they threw at Trevor Story?

They may trade him for the next Dugo, rinse and repeat.

Imagine there was some talk on here of trading Dugy in the offseason, and that he couldn’t play RF at Fenway. Don’t hear any of that talk now.

There was a lot of “can’t play RF” stuff, but I think most of the trade talk was just speculation due to his remaining control. There’s been a pattern lately about players gettting traded when they have one year left…

A trade that was hated when it happened is looking pretty damn good right now.

I’d rather just extend him.

Not a good pattern to deal players just as they get good just to obtain other players who aren’t good yet…

They have a half a second to decide if a 98 mph fastball is in the zone. It was out of the zone but not by a lot. Hard to criticize that.

Also worth noting - it’s May 1st and the Yankees are currently in sole possession of the AL East cellar…

The Red Sox had been on the back burner in Boston sports, but with the Bruins crapping their pants, and the Celtics losing tonight to Philly without Embied, and the NFL draft is over the Red Sox after tonight might move up.
