I guess it's my responsibility until they lose?

Yes. Also, we're playing the Brewers, but we don't get bogged down by details here.

Ah! Right! (Yesterday was kinduv a discombobulating day.)

Aren't Milwaukee and Minnesota in the same state?

Is the game actually 8:10 EDT/5:10PDT ? Late start on a Friday night . Not going to be available until later in the game but good luck and pitching to Nick Pivetta. Brewers record to date is formidable at 14-5, tied with Braves for 2nd best record following the RAYS @ 16-3.

Kind of close, but neither is habitable in the winter. Oh, I forgot, many of you live in new England/New York

8. Duran CF

9. Chang SS

Six lefty bats vs righty. Pretty good lineup except for Casas and Chang. I exempt Yoshida because he hit the ball hard yesterday (well, once, anyway).

Bottom third looks better than the middle third. But, frankly, I refuse to second guess Cora because I think he's made some good choices this year. Without Story and now Duvall, the on paper weak lineups have produce surprising results.

Actually, getting stuff wrong has produced some pretty good results in the past.

Good synopsis. Brewers swept Yankees in Milwaukee. They are just back from a 10 game road trip in which they were 7-3.

The Sox, despite what seems to be a weak lineup, have scored more runs.

Brewers have excellent pitching, ERA ranked 2d in MLB. Before the Twins played at Fenway--where they lost 2 of 3--they had the #1 (lowest) ERA. Now they are 4th.

I'm still hoping they move Yoshida to the lead-off slot. Maybe it gets him thinking "get on base" not "hit a double."

Devers second.

Dugo fourth.

The rest seems to be interchangeable. Kike seems to be warming up, so maybe....

I spend the winter in LA. Which wasn't habitable this winter either.

In LA the important thing is where do you summer. If in LA, you can have the chicken, but not the duck.

Good throw, not a one hopper, by McGuire

gets the runner going to 2b and out of the inning. Wong makes that throw.

McGuire was in a terrible position to catch that throw from Dugo. If he was on the 3d base line, he would have caught it in the air and been in perfect position for the tag.

McGuire is not a good defensive catcher, period. Plus tonight he's hitless in 2 at bats.

Sox are 4-7 in games in which McGuire has caught. In the games in which Wong has caught the Sox are 8-5.

Do we need any further evidence that Cora also thinks McGuire stinks at catching? 6th inning and he pinch hits for McGuire so he can get Wong in to stop the bleeding.

Plus of course righty bat Refsnyder pinch hits and gets a key single.

Decent night for Pivetta. I like him, I like Houck. I think they both will turn into great starters over time.

I wouldn't say great, but am more than fine with reliable.

Just don't let Wright catch them.
