I hope we don't go there.

Don't forget the 48 games in a row with just 3 off days, today being one of them. That's a brutal schedule and still has 21 days to run. The schedule has exacerbated the Sox pitching problems.

Less explicable is the problem with scoring runs because right now the Sox have some pretty decent lefty (Casas, Devers, Duran(IL), Yoshida, Dugo, McGuire) and righty (Duvall, Turner, Reyes(also IL), Wong, Refsnyder, and Story (who hasn't delivered yet)) bats.

Even the fielding has improved with the return of Story. In recent series vs the Dodgers and Astros, the Sox have made far fewer errors, but lost 5 of 6 games.

I am pretty sure that all teams have had similar type schedules throughout the season. They just got off a cushy schedule a while back and now they face the mighty KC Royals for 3 after a day off. Not buying this excuse.

Why is it an excuse? It's common sense. The schedule exposed the pitching, which we all knew was weak.

I have always felt that when you start making or accepting excuses, it will only generate more excuses. Within reason, I think it is best to be results oriented. Feel free to disagree, but it has worked well for me.

That was my actually. None of Bloom’s prospects are MLB ready. He must be pumped though going through the waiver wire to see what he can add for Pennie’s on the dollar.

They may not be ready, but it's not because they suck. He drafted HS kids early in his tenure here. They take longer to mature.

BTW, we have already seen several Bloom prospects called up and helpful, which is not bad, considering he's been here for 4 years, and it takes 4-6 years for most prospects to mature AND be helpful at the big league level:

Whitlock

Winckowski

Wong

Bernardino

Have made brief appearances, already:

Abreu

EValdez

DHam

Robertson

Jacques

Kelly

Some that may be called up in 2024 (granted, not a great list for 24):

Mayer (maybe 2025)

Gambrell

Yorke

S Scott

Rosier

Drohan

Mata

Fernandez, Guerrero, Politi

Kavadas

2025:

Teel

Meidroth

Hickey

Jordan

Dobbins, I Coffey, Hoppe, Bastardo, Liu, Troye

Lugo, Sikes. Koss, McDonough

On pace for 86 with 34 to go. How many think we end up with...

88+

85-87

82-84

78-81

77 or less

(Remember, we have a very difficult schedule.)

I'm thinking 87 wins.

This sounds about right.🙈

If winkleman’s command and control improve even slightly, then he should be in Boston by September 2024!

Kavadas’s swing is so long, and he struggles to pick up the spin on the ball. it is hard to see him ever getting an at bat in Boston.

I missed placing Wikelman in the 2024 group.

Kavadas and others listed on the bottom lines were meant to be only longshots, who would have to make improvements to make the bigs.

I'm glad my overoptimism brings you so much joy.

It would have brought me joy if it would have happened, but they will probably be closer to 87 loses than 87 wins.

Actually, I did not list Wikelman, because he is a DD prospect.

I only listed Bloom guys.

I meant you enjoy throwing it in my face.

Not surprising, to me.
