You don't care so much but you care enough to respond...OKAY.

Dude, stop with this "all opinions matter" bs. That's a two way street, you give a stupid opinion expect a response. Some people have the "opinion" that the world is flat, some people have the opinion that Sandy Hook was a "hoax" do those people not deserve to be called out on their bull?

All opinions are not created equal.

Having the opinion that Bloom is a lousy G.M. is a perfectly defensible position. No gripes there, but in this particular case your opinion has no logical basis to it....it's just old man yells at clouds.......on a sunny day.

Thanks for bringing laughter to me day.

I wouldn't use the term "bothered," but of course I am concerned based on the risk of this sort of signing being higher than a MLB player.

BTW, you just said, "I’m not against the signing...," so where are we in disagreement?

I, too, would like to have gotten him for cheaper, if we could have, but if we got what we wanted and he earns the money, I'm not going to stress over it.

My big question is if his talent in Japan will cross over to MLB baseball.

Good old derangement syndrome it’s funny to watch. To you it’s a stupid opinion, so glad I could oblige to get a shoutout f’n all the way.

A very realistic concern that all of us share.

Some players do very well. Some do not. There is no tool we can use to be sure about anything, but there is no tool that say Syndergaard or deGrom will earnt their pay, either. Sure, we seem to know what they can and might so, if healthy by a wider margin than we know about Yoshida, but there is risk with every signing.

Looking at his numbers in Japan, one could say he's worth twice what we paid for him. We paid him half, because of the risk. Maybe, we could have gotten him for a third. Maybe, it's probable we could have.

If he works out, I won't be bothered by the "outbid." If he sucks, I'll blast the move like I did the JBJ, Diekman and other deals I disliked from day one and those I came to dislike in hindsight. There are plenty. There will likely be more. Maybe this one- maybe not.

Dude....this is pure 100% conjecture on your half. You can't just make s*** up and expect people to respect your argument.

Even if it was true, so f***ing what. You do an analysis, you trust your people, and you offer what you think someone is worth and you don't look back. I can respect that. But if you think the Sox didn't have an idea what other people thought of him and wanted to offer him you're delusional. I mean put the crack pipe down and think for you second. You really think Bloom can be this penny-pinching heartless soul unwilling to sign anyone if it's a cent above his value line but then he just goes out and blindly throws $100 million at someone. Even a very incompetent man often follows some kind of logic or pattern, this does not, you're inventing an argument based on ZERO information. just stop dude.

I know Old Red can take care of himself , but I just want to add my two cents worth. You post to him like he is somehow beneath you. No civility. No respect. Is it your aim to come across like some kind of smart ass ? Because that is how it seems.

So, when you think an opinion is stupid, it's all about everyone having a right to an opinion. When another thinks you're opinion is stupid, it's some sort of derangement syndrome. Who is being intolerant of varying opinions, here?

The cult or those seeing those who disagree as a cult?

...and calling us a cult is so civil and respectful.

We'll have to see. It's a gamble. If his talent was guaranteed to translate, his contract would be much higher. He signed at a discount due to the unknown.

Better to be a smart ass than a dumbass.

It has been said the League Yoshida is in has better pitching and a step above where Suzuki came over from.

I can't corroborate either way. I'm hopeful that he'll work out, because of his particular skillset.

We've seen plenty of AAA players with super high OBPs not transfer that to the bigs, but low K rates seem to be something that is an innate skill that does not rely as heavily on the skills of opposing pitcher upgrades from one leve to the enxt.

We will see, soon enough.

What opinion did I say was stupid? It should be an easy find for you. I trust Peter Abraham on the reporting, and I trust his opinion, so if my opinion is stupid I’m in good company. I’ll also go out on a limb to say that Abraham knows more on the Yoshida subject than anyone on here, and yes I know that’s hard for some to comprehend, and I’ll also say that he has a lot more who agrees with him then anybody on here, so if I have a stupid opinion I’m proud of it.

The argument that my argument is based on zero info is zero info itself.

I didn't say you called any opinions tupid, but the way you react shows utter contempt for many. You recently called an opinion I qualified as total speculation a "conspiracy theory." I'm not sure which is worse.

Again, you say social media does not affect your opinion, then prove the opposite is true.

If social media affected my my opinion then I would be in agreement with some of you guys, and you can see I’m not. Speculation is a long ways from stupid.

This explains your thought process to a tee.

My argument has plenty of info from a very reliable source, so what is your reliable source to say it isn’t true?

Butch from the Cape died a long, long time ago. You can't use him as a source anymore.

I called it speculation: you called it "conspiracy theory."

I could probably find a respectable media person who said something like, "The Sox never wanted to pay the current market value for Bogey." I just won't bother looking.

I have already said it very well might be true.

Strawman, again.

Current market value no, but last years market value?

The current market value at any time on the timeline is what I have repeated over and over.

They did not think he was worth $160M/6 when the signed Story, or before, IMO.

They did not think he was worth $170M/6, $185M/7 or $200M/8 or whatever the lowest Bogey would have accepted, at any point in the timeline. It's my opinion based on what little information any of us have. It's speculation, but my evidence is pretty solid: if at any time we felt he was worth what he'd have taken, he'd be signed, right now. If that sniffs of "conspiracy theory," please explain why?

I was responding to your response to him. Is that not allowed?

Don't we "all have a right to voice our opinions?" (and yes, you never said I couldn't.)

Nothing wrong with you being such a great buddy that you are, and sticking up for someone who said there was zero info when there was info, and it was just a stupid opinion, but I guess he needed something to prove he could rant, and rave, and I know you just couldn’t resist, and jumped in too. Bless your little pea pickin heart.

Your entitled to your opinion, but I just haven’t heard that opinion from any of the beat writers who cover the team that I would assume would have more info, or knowledge on the matter.
