Play all bubble roster players to get a better read on who to keep and who to boot.

They already have been doing that with Franchy Strange Glove, and Duran the Butterfly Man

It’s a dead season. Throw everything at the wall. Sit everyone you don’t want hurt.

Sure. See if any of them have potential

I’m hoping they add German to the 40 man.

As for Ort, this might be his last chance. Why not give him one more shot if the season is lost anyway?

Franchy is trying to make himself interesting. In his past 38 PA, his OPS is a ridiculous 1.145.

Just keep him in the OF. He’s had his shot at 1b. Let someone else try…

Franchy usually hits well when he first comes back up, but it fades away quickly. Keep him in the outfield where?

At this point, there are no better options for this season.

Davis was horrible but Sawamura is a little surprising. He isn’t great or anything, but more worse players are on this team

His numbers were not ok. He had contract issues coming due today. That’s why the call was made.

Cora didn’t trust him enough to bring him back next year.

If it’s contract related it makes sense. From a production standpoint though, it makes no sense that Brasier is still on the team.

I’m 110% certain the contract was a factor.

If Brasier survives the season, I don’t think anyone would disagree he is a non-tender candidate…

Fourth OF at best.

As a second year arbitration player, he may get non-tendered alongside Brasier…

He should be gone for sure.

He’s not a good OF, and he’s not a good hitter outside of AAA.

So Davis is gone as well. They have to DFA Brasier, Hernandez and Ort too.

Only four arms are reliable. Bloom will have to build the BP from the scratch next year.

Bringing Ort back up just to fill out the roster is ridiculous.

It's incredible the pile of garbage Bloom built in the BP and has to clean now.

I don’t know if he knows how.

He has to stop his dumpster diving approach for almost every position. He will have money. Let's see what he can do.

Cordero has 4 homers in his last 6 games. Not sure I'd give up on him just yet. Let him play the rest of the year and decide then.

If Hosmer wasn’t hurt he wouldn’t even be up now. He’s also the same guy that K’d like 15 straight times.

Garbage truck comes in October.

OK Mr. Downer. 4 homers in 6 games is still 4 homers in 6 games.

Ok we’ll go with your short, short sample size, so I won’t be a downer, and just forget all his other at bats. You can have him, but I’ve seen enough of him, and Duran.

Why would they DFA D. Hernandez?

You can always find a taker for a 102 mph fastball…

We should play all bubble players as much as possible.

If we are not going to keep Wong and RHern, maybe we should be playing them both as much as possible. If we need to find out more about McGuire, then keep both catching prospects in AAA.

Play Dalbec almost everyday, unless you've decided he's toast, then play Casas in the bigs.

Play Cordero as much as possible. Same with Arroyo, although he's not a "bubble" guy. I doubt Downs is a bubble guy, but play him, if he is.

Start Wink, Crawford and maybe even Seabold. If Bello is healthy and not on restricted innings, start him, too.

Add German to the 40 and call him up. Get a better read on what he might offer in '23.

I don't view Ort or Kelly as bubbles, so it seems like a waste, but if they view them as possible 2023 pieces, then yes, pitch them both.

I'd like to see Barnes get some high leverage situations to get a better feel about 2023.

Players I’d like to see play themselves on to or off of the 40 man

1. Cordero

2. Dalbec

3. Downs

4. Kelly

5. German

6. Familia

7. Bazardo

8. Norwood

Cordero, and Downs are suspects, and nothing more. AAA for Franchy, and AA for Downs.

Nothing to lose by giving Cordero a long look. There is no future in guys like Pham and Refsnyder.

I just don’t see Franchy getting a look when Hosmer is back. That’s why Franchy was sent back down.
