Well, Dalbec cost us 2 runs and the lead and probably the game.

Bloom must land an elite 1B next year. I'm done with this s***** experiment at first which began last year.

What an awful team. I don’t remember when this team was such crap. We need to keep losing so that there is no doubt that Bloom, Cora, and 70% of the players need to be FLUSHED.

Bear in mind Dalbec is replacing an injured player there now…

Not sure if this the worst Red Sox Team in the last 20 years, but it is probably the most mediocre which is more annoying for me.

You guys are so freaking spoiled you don't even realize that by citing those 4 specific years you have very obviously skipped over World Series wins in 2013 and 2018--to say nothing getting the the ALCS in 2021.

They were responding to a poster who claimed he couldn't remember when the team was such crap. Citing the years they won doesn't answer that......

Just responding to what was in his post regarding crap years. Just chill.

Only in September. They were a lot of fun for 5 months…

Especially when the rotation took to drinking beer in the locker room during games--but usually not the guy who was actually starting that night. He kind of had to stay in the dugout. The September collapse and the beer cost Francona his job. He deserved it, but he also learned from it (and has said so) and has continued to be an excellent manager with the Guardians.

The lesser of the two evils between him, and Franchy Strange Glove.

Screw Paxton and his muscle tear . he can go hold hands with Sale , except both of Chris's hands are wrapped up. Now the Sox must decide to pull the option trigger for 2023 or let him go FA again having pissed away a year's salary. Originally due back in July or August ?? My ass.

If they trigger the option, its 2 years for 26 million. If they don't exercise it, Paxton can opt in at 4 million a year for one year.

Other teams have sucked but this team is more BRAIN DEAD than most others. They just aren’t showing up ready to play. Other teams haven’t had the talent and were expected to suck. These guys had the talent to get into wild card competition but kept making dumb plays and performing way below the level of talent. Martinez and Bogaerts are prime examples.

Not Crawford's night. But the problem is that Barnes, Whitlock, Schreiber and Brasier all pitched last night.

Don't put Barnes and Brasier in the same sentence with the 2 good pitchers.

Let's Make the Sox Great Again!

Worst records since 1920...

How to forget the chicken and beer gate lol

I remember that A700 and I predicted the collapse in August and everyone here went to our neck and the rest is history.

You are ace of the spoiled brats. JDM and Bogaerts are absolutely not brain dead. Both were key to the 2018 108 wins and then a World Series--plus Bogey played 3b in the 2013 WS win. This is Bogey's best defensive season--as measured by his DWAR--ever. But both are in slumps, and JDM has simply had a terrible season.

You want brain dead, look at Vazquez's baserunning this year and last. Also the defensive lapses in the outfield this season--and at 1b.

The defense has almost certainly hurt the pitching--despite pretty good play by Bogey and Story (and sometimes Devers)--but the real problem this year is the injuries to the rotation and the bullpen. Because of those injuries, the Sox ERA of 4.47 is 14th of 15 teams in the AL.

"Let's make the SOX great again" makes sense, because they have had great years in the past. What makes no sense is when one wants to make something great again that was never great to begin with. Edited by SPLENDIDSPLINTER

I disagree, America certainly was great once upon a time.....

Meh. I agree Whitlock and Schreiber have been vastly better, but right now Barnes and Brasier are needed. Brasier gave up 5 in the the 15-10 debacle and 2 more vs. the Braves, but in 9 other stints in August has given up no earned runs. Barnes ERA for August is 2.16. That's why both pitched last night in a game the Sox could have won--and didn't lose until the Jays scored in the 10th.
