Chaim Bloom trades for a 34 year old outfield who averaged sub .700 OPS over the past 3 seasons in Tommy Pham? It's not puzzling anymore, it's his method of operation. Let's give up good players and get BAD players. Job done!!

 

Hey guys, we got another body we can throw into the outfield who is likely to hit under .700 OPS! Huzzah, that's better than JBJ's .578 OPS. See Bloom realizes that the key is to lower expectations so much that even a BAD player improves your situation!

 

That was the key to the Hosmer trade. Dalbec looks so BAD that Hosmer is an improvement even though he's clearly just a salary dump for San Diego.
