Pivetta was a flash in the pan. It was nice but the party is over for him. We should have lost yesterday too. The players were saying before they started the stretch against the Rays and Yankees that it would be a good indicator of where they are. I guess we know now where they are.

This is a fourth place team-if we can finish above the Orioles.

In defense of Pivetta, he's the only SOX starter I have any faith in going forward who will be capable of pitching every 5th day.

He has given up 13 runs and counting in his last 2 starts…….

True, but I was referring to his physical ability to be there every 5th day. I don't have the same trust that will be true with the returning starters for the SOX.

I think the mediocre teams in the AL are equally matched. I expect a real panda fight for those WC positions.

I wouldn’t say flash in the pan; he’s a 3 at best and probably a 4. Those type guys are capable of really good to great starts, but those streaks are short.

He was a flash in the pan because he pitched above his head for weeks. I agree: he is a 3 or a 4.

His act is getting old. I use to think he would come around. Now I am not so sure.

To be fair, JD's 5 year contract has worked out much better than most of the SOX long-term contracts.

Close to the time when fans of another team get to watch JD up close

Oh-I agree!

But I really think he is finished now.
